My understanding from watching CNN for an hour this morning with lots of repetition is that she's going to "suspend" her campaign, not concede. Suspending gives her the right to hold on to her votes and explore whatever any avenues she wishes to. I think this is a better strategy for her really. She has $20 M primary debt and if her donors want her to concede, she can hold this over their head so they will give her permission to use money from her general election fund to pay off this debt.
Gotta pay them bills. Unless someone volunteers to pay of that debt, she shouldn't concede because that really doesn't give her many bargaining chips when it comes to paying off her debt. She isn't holding her breath for the "dream ticket" so if nothing else, she should pay that ish off before throwing in the towel officially.
Why the hell do you even care when she concedes? He has or will have the requisite number of super delegates. When she concedes is inconsequential. She's not attacking him so I don't really see why this matters to everyone. She's invested a lot of time, money and energy into this. I definitely don't think she should have conceded before the Michigan and Florida decisions of a few days ago when she's put so much into it. I think her grasp on reality is fairly solid so at this point, not officially quitting is purely strategic, especially since she's made it clear in the last few days that she will make sure there's a democrat in the white house come November.
How exactly does her not conceding affect you in any way?
I agree Daria, people need to chill. I believe she will concede tonight, but if she waits a while longer, so be it. Barack will get the nomination, so it really doesn't matter when she does it.
The demonization of Hillary in this race is the ugliest thing i've ever witnessed in politics. She and Bill have been branded as vile racists out to destroy the annointed one, and anyone who supports Hillary by voting for her, is automatically deemed ignorant, uneducated, self loathing, and racist.
If anything keeps me voting for Obama in the fall it'll be the obamanuts.
@ daria–I think the frustration of HRC not conceding comes from the fact that people are simply tired of this process being dragged out for so long, especially with the drama-rama tones the coverage has taken and the fact that folks felt she should have dropped out when it became "mathmatically apparent" that she wouldn't get the nomination. It may not directly affect us at the moment (getting food and gas and rent), but it certainly keeps the "information noise" levels up. Some people just want some peace and quiet from the election cycle…for a little while, at least.
Honestly, I probably won't watch the results tonight but read and hear about them in the morning. Again, just to lessen the noise.
…in the meantime, I'm going to fugure out if that was really Gerard Butler's ripped torso in "300" or some killer CGI work. Again, just to lessen the noise.:-D
@TCS: it was MOSTLY his. Mmm mmmm mmmm. That man is flawless. I promise you that it's a much more satisfying way to spend your time and energy than this election B.S.
the Cruel Secretary I agree with you post 6&7. I am so sick of the mud slinging. At this point, as soon as I hear either of the candidates name mentioned on the news, I turn the channel.
Gerald Butler is yummy, I loved 300 because all of the men had riped bodies.
So a few "obamanuts" whoever/wherever they are will keep you from voting for the best choice for President? Not the candidate?????? Apparently whacked out HRC fans didn't deter you from voting for her (if you did). That is truly interesting- or a cop out……….
Oh Come On!!!!!

Just give up already, Hills. You're really embarrassing yourself. Go out with dignity.

Oh I just figured it out. McCain doesn't have any "nuts" who support him?? Whatever.
