MARIAH WHO? An album filled with Lil Wayne's drug-fueled rhymes is on track to be the biggest debut of 2008. According to Wayne's label, The Carter III, which hit shelves yesterday morning, might sell as many as 950,000 copies by weeks end. That's more than first-week numbers for Mariah Carey's E=MC2, 2008's current record holder. The theory is that the album's frequent leaks created a buzz that drove fans to purchase the album as soon as it came out. It's all an argument in favor of over-exposure. Yay. [EW]

^^Exactly! What is sad is that it is a lot of women that are buying it as well…

Interesting take. I'd have to disagree that Wayne hates women. He talks about sex but definitely makes it clear that he wants the woman to get hers too. Even in his song Prostitute, he says, in so many words, that he doesn't care if the woman he loves used to be a prostitute before she got with him, as long as what they had was real. Pretty evolved for a "woman-hater."

I'm sure there are certain lyrics we could point to that are less progressive, but I think labeling him a woman hater may be a bit harsh. And yes, I'm a woman.

Make sure a women gets hers, is in no way showing respect. He only mentions women in reference to sex, as there is no use for women beyond sexual objects.
Thats a bit harsh.

Hipsters love this fool. I bet they will purchase 600,000 of his newest project. Lil Wayne and DMX are compeating for the tittle of AA Pete Dorthy.

Sad to say but deep down inside most men feel this way.
