• "ABC reports that 'AIG, Citibank and a number of other federally bailed-out financial institutions have no plans to cancel hundreds of millions of dollars in sports team sponsorships, even as they take billions in taxpayer support': … Imploding insurance giant AIG is paying the British soccer team Manchester United $125 million for the privilege of having its logo appear on Man U’s uniforms. That, despite the fact the firm is standing largely thanks to a $150 billion lifeline from the U.S. Treasury. "
I'm more and more sickened by the day about these bailouts.
I keep wondering whether it wouldn't have made more sense for the federal government to do something practical like wipe out one-third to one-half of all student loans. That would certainly free up people's cash and put more money back in the economy.
@ Write Black- HELL YEAH! im so down with that idea! Not just because I have a bit of my own student debt, but because it's noble debt in my book. I used this money for my college tuition, not on buying a house I couldn't afford or having shady biz tactics (Ahem, all these wall street mofos). That would truly be the best (and most ethically sound) way to stimulate the economy. Fuck them rich mo fos on Wall Street.
There should of been some type of stipulations placed on this money that the feds are handing out like Halloween money.
cosign that write black. There is a blog going that makes the case for something of what you are talking about.
