3 Dead as Sick Nation Battles for Sales
A Truly Black Friday

Because the world is an ever-deepening pit of consumption, violence and outlandish selfishness, three people lost their lives while out in the thick of America's reckless commercialism this Black Friday, our nation's favorite day to spend money it doesn't have on shit it doesn't need.

In Long Island, a mob at an area Wal-Mart trampled to death a 34-year-old worker on its way toward cheap TVs on which to watch UFC matches and the torture program 24. This before 6 am.

Hours later, in a resort town in California, two men drew handguns in the middle of a Toys 'R' Us toy store and killed each other after their girlfriends got into a verbal altercation. Witnesses say one of the men was with his young children, one of whom stood over his father's lifeless body after the gunfight, imploring him to "wake up."

Happy holidays, everyone.

Wow! Since one of these fools had children I've decided that this is a tragedy. Otherwise, I'd say good riddance. This is such a new level of senseless violence and stupidity.

What the hell is wrong with people. its not that serious. you sat in a line, walk in the store in a line. your adults, do better.

When reporters asked people inside WalMart if they knew that the man opening the door had been trampled to death, one of them responded "Well, we've been on line all night!"

Merry Christmas.

madness.

i went to target with my husband at 5:30am. left our son AT HOME with my mom, where he should be that damn early in the morning.

waited in line with everyone else. they had carts blocking the entrance to everyone who was not in the line. They formed the line using said carts as barriers, so the only way to get in was to wait.

everyone went in calmly, there was no yelling, fighting, just like a normal shopping day.

that is why i shop at target, not walmart.

…all for some cheap junk that ends up in a landfill or made obsolete within 5-7 work days.

This country's a trip…LOL!!!

the madness is that people would get up at the crack of dawn to save $10 on a trinket that they don't need, that was probably made by someone who makes less than that a MONTH. this tragedy was created by the lot of us, and our materialistic consumption.
