marionjones.jpgMARION JONESIN' Marion Jones, former Olympic hero and current disgrace to the sport of track & field, was sentenced to six months in prison today for using steroids and being involved in a bank fraud scheme. She had previously asked the judge to give her probation with no jail time because she has already suffered enough. Clearly, the judge disagreed.

Marion brought this grief on herself. She made bad choice after bad choice with whom she surrounded herself. She took things to far - you can't ask for forgiveness when you shout out to the heavens that you've never taken anything, even in your bio, and claim everybody who speaks against you is a liar. She even sued some. No sympathy.

I agree Atalanta. Marion took her lies too far. While I feel for her children, who will be w/o a mother for 6 months, I call this a case of the inevitable: karma. When you put negative things into the universe, it always comes back.

Good thing she has nice, strong legs to run away from the scary prison women!

Or she could use her muscular legs to put those women in a head lock.

I didn't even know she had kids. Is she married? Hope she has a strong, supportive spouse. As much as she brought this on herself, I still feel for her. It's a slippery slope and before you know it, you go from getting "just a little extra help" to being thrown in jail. I tend to think that people who do things like this didn't wake up one day and decide to do such things. Insert Will Smith joke.

I don't think she's remarried. She has kids by her ex who was a shot-putter or something.

I dont think that she deserves such a harsh sentencing. She didnt do anything to harm anyone else's life. She didnt do anything that bad. I feel like they have done enough to her already. She got her titles taken away, her reputation messed up, and public humiliation. Now jail time and community service for steriod use? What about the doctor that gave her the steriods? She didnt get them on her own. Being away from her kids is going to be the killer. Its bad enough that they will have to hear about this all over t.v. and in their personal settings. I wish that someone could intervene on her behalf to the court to help her case. I just dont think this is right. She needs to fight this as hard as she can. Im praying for her and her family.
