kenya.jpg• Things just got more dismal in Kenya. [NYT]

• Drama in the black blogosphere! Moral of the story: don't call Maya Angelou a ho. [WAOD]

• This is pretty despicable, but, having gone to a big sports university, not shocking in the least. [Jezebel]

• This is one brave Ugandan. [QT]

• Missy does her new video in 3-D. Always ahead of the video curve, this one. [MTV]

• Foxy Brown is denied again. Maybe she should come up with another angle, because the hearing loss thing isn't striking a chord with the judges. [XXL]

Oh yes, the "people" are ANGRY with the B.
But dear ones, why be angry because Maya A. is called a ho, but giggle in delight when anyone else is? It's hypocritical.
Also, Bossip never claimed to be a "serious" news source. It's a gossip blog. Freedom of speech.

Calling a great lady like Maya a ho, is just more proof of how low our "culture" has become. God forbid any black person does'nt fall and worship at the knees of OBAMA.

Go Missy!

I admit I do read Bossip but I don't like their hateful posts. I think the title, "Ho Sit Down" is just disrespectful and ignorant, no matter who you are referring to.

Why are they calling anyone a ho, but especially Maya?

If they call celebs who put their private business in the street, I don't agree with it, but I'm not going to write a letter to Bossip or anything. Who knew that having an opinion makes you a ho? This is more insulting than CNN's assertions that we BW are in crisis because we jus don know what we's gon do.

ljkelly and daria: I agree. I just think that the outrage that people are feeling is a bit hypocritical. Maya is, an elder, a respected authoress, a GBW, BUT she is, in my opinion, no better than anyone else. If you don't agree with the site, express your opinion and boycott it.

I don't agree with calling Maya Angelou a ho, but I also don't agree with going at a blog's advertisers because you don't like what the writers have to say. That sets a dangerous precedent.

Now, I hope the writers at Jezebel remember to write about all the white men who rape women that play in the NFL or college sports. That's been their fortay for years.

LeAnne, they've done a lot of stories on white men raping women but it seems like a bulk of it is either Iraq related (military and contractors) or deals with rich entitled New York men who believe that they deserve access to anyone's vagina.

We've all read Bossip, but it's a trash blog. Everyone knows it. Next.
