NEW LAW SHOULD HAVE BEEN OLD LAW "State legislators passed a law Saturday that would require adults who French kiss a child younger than 13 to register as a sex offender."
What if an 18 year old French kisses a 13 year old? Then that person's life is potentially ruined. I agree with souldecirce, I don't think this law is going to be a deterrent.
it specifically said children younger than the age of 13 years old. i don't think an 18 year old needs to be making out with an 11 or 12 year old child. i would honestly wonder if they had pedophilic tendicies. can you tell me how that situation WOULDN'T be sexually exploitative, and not to mention vile?
sloane, I agree about the potential pedophilic tendencies; hopefully, the young person (18ys) could then be ordered into some sort of treatment or therapy, but just forcing them to register as a sex offender can pose lifelong problems in housing, job placement etc…I'm not trying to advocate for perverts to have a lesser punishment, but the numbers of homeless men and women, who are sex offenders is high. It's much more complicated then slapping the individual’s wrist and forcing them to be chastised from communities and whatnot. Cases like Wilson v. State of Georgia show that laws may grossly take advantage of cases like these, that are clearly designed to protect children. And can often be used against youths who in fact are not immoral/or criminal.
the people who are doing this will stop because it's now against the law?
