bj1.jpgHEEEERE'S BOBBY I don't know about you guys, but I sort of missed Bob Johnson's contribution to the political process!

'"What I believe Geraldine Ferraro meant is that if you take a freshman senator from Illinois called 'Jerry Smith' and he says I'm going to run for president, would he start off with 90 percent of the black vote?" Bob Johnson said to the Charlotte Observer. "And the answer is, probably not."

"Geraldine Ferraro said it right. The problem is, Geraldine Ferraro is white. This campaign has such a hair-trigger on anything racial … it is almost impossible for anybody to say anything."'

In the same interview, he admitted that his vague statements last year about what Obama was doing "in the neighborhood" were a reference to Obama's admitted drug use and not his community organizing, as Johnson tried to convince an unbelieving public after his comments made the rounds.

Geraldine Ferarro said nothing racist at all. The fact that she mentioned it blew people's heads. That he's a media darling becuase he's black? Of course he is. Look at John Edwards, a man with 10 times more experience and had a more resolute plan to fix & help this country than Obama's. The man had to shout & fight to have somebody hear him out, and sadly got the most media exposure when he quit the race.

But Obama is a reporter's dream come true in terms of subject matter & news-worthy item, "a black man running for president" makes a better storyline than John's "son of a mill worker" story.

The problem with Bob Johnson's statement is that Barack Obama did NOT start off with "90% of the black vote" - Hillary Clinton did! Remember when she was leading the black vote? Remember when he wasn't "black enough" for black people?

As for "hair-trigger" racial comments. Calling Obama "boy" is not a problem? Andrew Cuomo stating that Obama can't "shuck and jive" at press conferences is not a problem?

Come on…

Hillary Clinton and her supporters (like Erica Jong and Gloria Steinem for starters) openly tout one of the good things about her being elected president is that she is a woman. But what would happen if Barack Obama came out and said it would be great and historic to elect him because he is black? What if he came out and said the white pundits and opponents were picking on him because he is black? He would NEVER and everyone knows it.

He kind of does say it. Do you think when he uses the word "change" he is just talking about Washington? It's also a thinly veiled reference to him being the first black president. Come on, dude, it's so obvious. He plays the politcal game very well. I give him kudos for that.

Bob is right in that you can't say anything about Barack w/o being accused of some sort of racism. I see it all the time. Even if you aren't called that outright it's the tone (and vitriol) of the repsonse that gives it away. Anyone who is not a Barack supporter knows what I am talking about. Barack supporters WILL NEVER admit that. They pretend not to see it or understand. So the conversation is silly….and I don't even try to have it with folks anymore.

what is ignorant is that people really believe that all black people are only voting for him because he is black…. so why did we vote for every other president?

Bob Johnson is an idiot, he just doesn't want Obama upsetting his media plans for the future, he knows that Obama won't deal under the table like Hillary.

Hillary problem with is that she practices nasty politics.
1. She kept trying to get the media to dig up dirt on Obama.
2. she is a liar many time over, though the media keeps catching her lies they allow her a free pass.
3. Keeps race-baiting, which should be a problem for any self respecting Black person.
4. Presently she doesn't have a statistical chance of winning so she wants to make sure Obama can't either, so she can return after McCain's four years.
5. Bill Clinton will never recover his upper statesman reputation in the USA, that reputation was mainly driven by Blacks who have now lost all respect for him, he has become this sad comical figure.

See, you just did it!

"3. Keeps race-baiting, which should be a problem for any self respecting Black person."

If we disagree we are apparently are self-hating?

That's bullshit, Truth, but you can keep spouting it. Best believe though, for all the things you think you know and all the knowledge you think you are dropping on people - YOU ARE WRONG. Wrong for judging and just factually wrong b/c you assume that everyone looks at it from your perspective.

I'm so tired of black people doing this shit to other blacks. I'm cool on you, Truth.

BMD,
Why would you support someone who uses YOUR race as a negative weapon against someone who looks like you, your parents, your siblings?
If I did, I would disgrace my ancestors and my parents.

BMD,
I mentioned before that I am not a Democrat so I have no internal knowledge of Hilliary's redeeming qualities, but I know dirty politics when I see it and that's why her poll negatives are 48%.
I have two horses in the race, Senator Obama and Senator McCain, I Obama is the nominee I will vote for him, if not then I vote for McCain, it's real simple.

My remarks are as usual not aimed at any particular person, they are just self reflection.
No personal attacks intended.

I AGREE, TRUTH! If the race baiting were off the table I would have nothing to say. In fact, that is what drew me in and made sure that there is no way I could support HRC.

To be honest, Around my way the candidate is always selected b/f I can add my two cents (or unfortunately I could not distinguish a difference in the candidates so it did not matter to me who the nominee was) and I hate to admit it but in the past I have just gone with the Democrat on the ticket in the general - regardless. This time is different. I woke up with the needless, childish, INSULTING race baiting that has been going on and I think for Black people to participate in it against their own - is well to be honest - disgusting!

Bob Johnson is an amoral idiot, and Hillary is a pathological liar. The only thing surprising me at this point, is that she still has supporters. But I don't argue with Hillary supporters anymore, because I just don't get them. If how she has run her mess of a campaign, firing Patty Solis Doyle and Mark Penn (her top people), and failing to even pay her vendors, I have no doubt whatsoever that she is ill-equipped to run a nation. And yeah, that nastiness is not a good look either.

The race baiting was started by OBAMA AND HIS SUPPORTERS. They took everything that Bill and Hillary said OUT OF CONTEXT to paint a "racist" narrative.

In a memo and distributed by the OBAMA CAMPAIGN. Huffington Post has the "Memo-gate."

NOT ONCE have Hillary or Bill ever said anything REMOTELY racist about Obama. It was all fabricated "Rove-style" by Susan Rice of the Obama Campaign.

But now since we talking, what about all the sexist remarks Obama has made towards Hillary? As far as I can see, Obama is extremely snide and rude towards his opponent (the mostr recent being the "Annie Oakley" comment) but because he is a man, everybody just laughs it off.

Phunk dat!

@jess2much4u: right on! people act as if black people are only voting for Obama because of his skin color. what are we supposed to do, vote for McCain or Hillary to prove them wrong? (btw, i'm anti Ann Coulter. she said she would vote for Clinton if McCain got the nomination. reverse that, and you have my position.)

@bmd and other unreasonable Clinton supporters: what if we say that your calling every mention of race, race-baiting? do you see how absolutely it is to make such a claim? the fact of the matter is that black people (and whoever the minority is in any context–whites, goths, metalheads, etc.) will always be able to wonder whether something was done because of a racialist motive. Obama, himself, does not stoop to these tactics. maybe his supporters do. but that's like saying Clinton is an idiot because some of her supporters are.

Rice & Beans–stop smoking, wake up and see reality. The Clintons are such HIGHLY SKILLED politicians that they are able to inject race in the campaign, and it flies over the head of all political novices. Everyone knows what they did. They play dirty. Old politics is just that–OLD. THIS IS A NEW DAY!

To associate Rovian with the Obama campaign means you are DELUSIONAL. LOOK UP THE DEFINITION OF ROVIAN instead of throwing it around.

^^That is what turned me off of Hilary, but I certainly won't vote for McCain if Obama does not win the nomination. For those of you who are going to vote for McCain, if Hillary does not win and ask that you rethink your position.

McCain wants to continue the war in Irag which may plunge this country further into debt (maybe bankrupcy).Unless you are a greencard holder/citzen of another first world country, don't cut off your nose to spite your face. You may have to chose the lesser of two evils.
