From a GChat conversation with a Democrat working in DC:
after last night
all hope is lost
obama will lose
he can't stick it out with the assholes
john mccain will be our next president
…
i wish [Obama] was mlk, jfk and jesus christ all rolled into one
but i don't think he can be
not anymore
Fuck that despondency. I think a large portion of the American public sees those shits for the shits that they are.
Not the smartest post, I realize. That just made me really sad and angry.
Please.
We're going to win this.
Just because Obama & Clinton are still bickering, doesn't mean McCain is going to win.
McCain is Dole all over again; a doddering old war hero without a smidgen of charisma. Plus, he's wrong on just about every issue except campaign finance reform.
Obama (almost certainly) will get the nomination by mid-summer, and precisely 2 weeks later the entire electorate will have forgotten who Hillary Clinton was.
John Edwards who?
There will be 4-5 months and millions of dollars to grind McCain into the ground.
The sad thing is that Obama will inherit a country in total, total disrepair, and a decent president will not be enough.
Here's hoping.
Can anyone be MLK, JFK and Jesus rolled into one? The polls contradict this persons comments. According to MSNBC and ABC news polls, Obama won this debate by a margin of almost 3 to 1. Personally, I thought Obama did really well. He looked frustrated at times, but he never lost his cool.
Obama got shown for what he truly is, an onexperienced arrogant Chicago politician.
AND SHAME ON THE PERSON who sees Obama as Jesus, JFK and MLK, Jr. all rolled up in one. That's the problem. The Obamabots projected their desires of change/hope upon his speechmaking & telegenic image, and ran with it.
Problem is, like I said in the debate post, he has been treated like a Jesus, MLK,Jr. and JFK without EARNING IT. The MSM has given his a free magic carpet ride - one that Hillary has never gotten and neither will get.
Thank you ABC for pulling the curtain on the Wizard of Oz.
Obama managed to stay cool after an hour of bombardment from ABC. He did fine; he's such a classy individual. He will win. The superdelegates are coming his way and Hillary's supporters know that the end is near!
Rice and Beans are you KIDDING?!?!?!?! You are delusional! If Obama lost 11 contests in a row and was behind in the same number of delegates as Hillary is right now, had a sh*tty campaign like she did, fired his chief strategist who was making back deals with the Colombian government, lagged far behind in fundraising and organization, NO ONE would think that he could still come back. He would have been crucified by the MSM long ago. Yet with Hillary, the MSM says "Never count a Clinton out". Wake up. CLEARLY that is a magic carpet ride!! Obama earned his position!
This is like the Super Bowl. Every one seems to be trying to f— up more than the other.
Dems: we don't want it. The next 4 years are going to be sh*tty anyway.
GOP: oh hell naw. Take this sh*t. Time for you punk b—hes to put up or shut up.
Dems: Clean up what you started
GOP: Aren't you the mommy party? Go get the mop, fools.
Dems: But you're the daddy party? Go fix the economy.
GOP: So you can whine about us giving tax breaks to rich people? Please.
Dems: You're just going to do the same if we raise taxes.
GOP: Hey, your boy Bubba supposedly fixed the economy. I'm sure you can do it again.
Dems: He didn't have a war to pay for. A war your man lied about to start by the way.
GOP: No comment.
Let's just hope the Dems do like the Giants and lose at losing.
This is ridiculous. Obama is not JFK, MLK and Jesus and no one should want him to be. Let the man be Barack Obama, a smart, accomplished brother with his own life expereices to bring to the table. Asking someone to be one other than themselves is a trick to set them up for disappointment. MRB - you have official gained joke status, so sad, occasionally you have witty responses but you are starting to sound like those harpies that occasionally pop in from other sites to call black people lazy, dangerous etc…..
Divalicious11, why are you calling me a troll, just because I have the "audacity" to not support Barack Obama? Not only that, but I'm also a self-loathing one too! Wow. Glad I did not drink that kool-aid.
I thought the comments section was an open forum, not an "Obama-lovers only" Everyone has the right to their opinion, even if it means that it disagrees with yours.
Dearest CLEARLY!,
I'm not talking about his campaign machine, which is brilliant, because they took a charismatic, inexperienced senator whose only main contribution to the Democratic party was to make a great speech and made him into a Jesus, JFK and MLK, Jr. all rolled up into one. Advertising & marketing for the Obama campaign are flawless. Even I drank the new Coke when it was advertised.
My problem with him is that he is a bag of empty promises. He's all personality & character, but nothing to back it up. He never served in the armed forces, he can't say "with my 10 years of being a US senator or governor of Illinois,". He can't even defend his own policies or past associations without a fumble or a stumble. The precious Prince turns into a stuttering frog when others have the audacity to challenge him on topics that, although trival at times, the press and the general public have the right to know.
Even George W. Bush has more experience than Barack, at least he was governor.
If Deval Patrick were to run, he definitely has a better chance of winning my vote because Deval has the experience as GOVERNOR of Massachusetts to rep him. Obama didn't even complete 1 term of his US senate term! And most of that time, he's spent running for president! That scares me.
We have had 8 years of a president that was revered as the guy they like to have a beer with, that "inspired them" etc. who got very huffy and very defensive when opposed.
I am deathly afraid of his "bipartisan" philosophy, which is going to hurt his candidacy like it did every Democrat in the past who ran for president. History is being made with Hillary and Obama runnng, but it also repeats itself. Any Democrat looking to unite Democrats Republicans clearly have not studied US elections.
Obama is a phenomenon, no doubt, but I'll stay with the candidate that knows what they are doing and will fight for me and everyone (even those that don't like her).
MR&B, I think you have every right to state your opinions, but you are degrading others for not sharing yours. It's perfectly okay to be a Hillary supporter, but it seems as though you have gotten some negative reactions from someone somewhere and are taking it out on others.
Far be it from me to say that I know exactly who you are, that I can pinpoint your personality. you. My only understanding of you comes from whatever comments you've left here on Stereohyped.
If I take your comments (in isolation) from this post and from the debate post, I would write you off as a troll, or someone who came in to stir up emotions. Your arguments come across as angry and potentially baseless. If someone came in and rallied against Hillary in the same way you've rallied against Barack, you'd be offended (or even feel justified, as the case may be?)
I called Obama the Magic Prince of Chicago-land, as it was a comment based on the Cord post where his friend called him Jesus, MLK, and JFK rolled up into one.
I'll make a note not to offend the sensitivities of the Obama supporters, and I will sacrifice a mea culpa on the The Chosen One's altar. Was that offensive as well? Sorry again!
Thanks, you know the Obama-ites are sensitive
Why is it that the HRC supporters on this site cannot seem to argue their points intelligently?????? I mean not once can you all seem to not call people "Obamanuts"- ites or whatever! Saying Obama supporters drink "kook" aid. GROW UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And another thing, they always say Obama supporters think he is God but they are the only ones I hear say this! Maybe this is how they feel about HRC! I don't get it. Again, GROW UP! ..and learn how to agree to disagree without insulting others! This is sooooooooo kindergarten!
Mama,
You called Obama supporters Obamabots and frankly it is insulting. I suppose ONLY HRC supporters are intellingent with a brain of their own???????
That's what I don't get..it is RARE on this site to find an HRC supporter that doesn't personally attack all non HRC supporters. I am not referring to the comments are tacky "Chose one" references to Obama but the tasteless comments toward others who express their opinions just as you. It's not about sensitivity but RESPECT. Good grief! It really undermines whatever it is you are trying to say.
I'm an Obama supporter (although not an Obamaniac) and I couldn't care less that you think Hillary is better than Obama. Most of your criticisms of Obama don't make much sense, and if you support a woman who vividly, in minute detail, remembers dodging sniper fire when she visited Bosnia when nothing of the sort happened, then there's no point in reasoning with you.
What they said…….
