John Edwards, the former senator from North Carolina who bowed out of the presidential race in January, is expected to endorse Senator Barack Obama at a rally being held [in Grand Rapids, Michigan] tonight.
I'm starting to think more and more they're gonna have to go with a Hillary supporter for this thing…and in saying that, I wouldn't be against Wesley Clark.
As much as I've come to dislike Hillary over the past few weeks, I've got to say that John Edwards kind of strikes me as a sniveling opportunist (too harsh?) He was being evasive, and now that it looks like Obama's definitely going to get the nomination, he's ready to endorse. He was strategic too, making sure he waited until after Hillary's victory in W. VA so that it wasn't so obvious what he was doing. Edwards did the same thing in 2004, kissing up to Kerry during the debates. I'm an Obama supporter, but that doesn't change the fact that I don't really care for Edwards–he was never running for president. He was always running for VP and he was going to endorse whoever became the frontrunner for the nomination. It's kind of ironic that he doesn't endorse Hillary, because they both have so much in common. Neither of them have any political positions on anything other than what will get them into the White House.
Oh no! I was really hoping for a Obama-Clinton ticket. The two of them would certainly beat McCain. But now… if this will be the ticket… I think Obama might just lose this.
I don't think Edwards will be on the ticket…I see him as Atty General…Supreme Court maybe… this was well timed politically - this was likely done prior to WVA but was held to blunt WVA - excellant political strategy. Although its not guaranteed, this effectively negates WVA, as Edwards' 19 delegates cancel the 12 pick-up and add 7 more to Obama….
Good news…think he's got any chance at VP?

Now will he be out campaigning….
Did you see that "endorsement"? Edwards will not be on that ticket!
The first article I read on this reffered to them as "Obama-Ewards." Therefore I went into "panic mode." Let's just hope that doesn't happen.
