WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN WHITE COACHES AND BLACK COACHES? A new study found that black NBA coaches whose teams have losing records are fired more quickly than white coaches whose teams have losing records. Interestingly, the study also found that racism was not a factor in the firing of coaches. [ER]

I'd have to see a list of all fired coaches from the past few years…

However, it's amazing that Doc Rivers still has a job in Boston.

@Shane - Boston has one of the best teams in the league. Beantown would have to try real hard to convince folks that Doc needs to go. But let them drift back to the Pitino era Celts and he'll be on the first Amtrak outta there.

And the NBA is slower to promote black coaches through the ranks.

Boston has one of the best teams in the league because McHale gifted them Garnett. Doc's trying his best to "coach" Boston out of the playoffs.

Also, last season was FAR worse than any under the Pitino era (which in no way defends Pitino), if you'll remember…Doc should have been gone long ago.
