The saga of LisaRaye and her estranged husband, Turks & Caicos Premier Michael Misick, is, of course, not anywhere near over. Rumors have been swirling that LisaRaye was engaging in a few extramarital activities herself, allegedly with Gary Payton. Now, Essence has posted photos of the injuries LisaRaye sustained during her last, fateful trip the presidential mansion. It's like an ugly trainwreck. I want to, but I can't look away.
"…And this one's for Ebony!"
I can't believe Essence posted those pics. Pretty tacky if you ask me. It's a personal affair. I can't help but look though but when I do I just feel grimy.
i guess the book deal is next.
It's official, Essence is nothing but a gossip rag. Isn't it wonderful what Time, Inc. has done to Essence.
I agree with KatDat, but I wonder if LisaRaye permitted them or if the mag got them from the island authorities?
cosign, KatDat.
I can't blame Essence. I think even the New York Times would have ran an exclusive with those pics. It's kinda world news since she is the first lady of Turks and Caicos! Although, I agree it was a tacky move to release the photos in the first place, regardless if that was done by the authorities or Lisa Raye's own camp.
This is a little too Juanita Bynum for my taste. I think if your relationships is in a state of turmoil, the last thing you need to do is run to the media. You need to take care of home because not a single person who is releasing these photos actually cares about his or her well-being. The only reason Essence did it is because they knew it would drive traffic and that's the bottom line.
I'm more disturbed that Lisa Raye's people released those photos than that Essence ran with it. I don't even care for Essence; they just recycle the same topics every year. I prefer Ebony.
I too prefer Ebony. Ebony and Latina.
Any press is good press. I'm not surprised. This is a messy divorce obviously and I'm not surprised that she'd release the photos.
@LP: I thought JB tried to hide her business.
Her "injuries" don't look that bad, and I don't fault Essence at all for running the pics. Lisa Raye and her people signed off on them for all the obvious reasons.
He put is hands on his estranged wife. That's horrible. I don't care if she has a few bruises or a few broken bones. Abuse is unacceptable.
No one said abuse is acceptable, and unless you were there, you have no idea if he put his hands on her or not.
He didn't. According to Essence, the injuries came from someone in his entourage. I should have clarified.
Black people, as a tired black man speaking to the entire black race: Look at the photos and ask yourself, honestly, is this what it has ultimately come to!?
