
Method Man will quietly answer to his weed charges by doing some community service work with kids, which seems like a relatively painless punishment. And surely not enough to get him sever ties with his lifelong love, marijuana.
The former Wu-Tang Clan member, whose real name is Clifford Smith, will join the Brooklyn district attorney's office's Choices and Consequences program as his community service.
He was arrested May 17 after toll booth workers at the Battery Tunnel smelled marijuana smoke wafting from his 2005 Lincoln Navigator. Cops said they found pot in the vehicle.
"He's never been in trouble with the law before," said the rapper's lawyer, Peter Frankel. "This is a guy who flies in the face of all stereotypes about rappers."
Blatantly smoking a lot of weed and getting arrested for possessing it… That definitely flies in the face of stereotypes about rappers.
