You see Barack Obama's touch everywhere — in the new generation of voters he's moved to register to vote and support his candidacy, in the smiling faces of elderly blacks, in the starry-eyed gazes of political pundits, and in the message boards on white supremacist sites. Wait, what?
Barack Obama's candidacy has supposedly inspired a flurry of white supremacist internet activity, with hopping-mad/shaking-in-their-boots racists heading to the net to express their frustration and abject fear and attempt to empower themselves, even though they represent a marginal fringe group that even normal, assimilated racists find distasteful. But really, if they're this scared now, wait until after election day. [JJP via BAW]
I had a co-worker tell me about a site dedicated to MLK that was run by a hate group, but is made to look just like an actual MLK site. I decided to check it out (it is full of lies and hate) and it drives you to a message board, so I took a look and it was filled with threads about Obama. It was disgusting and I only seeing it getting worse come November.
Hate is an ugly thing… but we've got to keep up our work to stop it and get Barack elected. YES WE CAN!
