There are so many beautiful women out there who get turned into emotionally unstable wrecks b/c of dogs like Eric Benet. I believe sex addition is real like any other addition, but it's something that he knew he was dealing with prior to marrying her and he still went forward and did some shady things. For that he really deserves no attention and isn't even worthy of being a pimple on Halle's ass.

I don't think all or even most of her problems stem from him. She didn't have good father figures around. If she did, she wouldn't make the same decisions in men. She probably wouldn't have made the same choices if she did. It's not some tragic mulatto thing. Thandie Newton is around the same age, biracial and in the public eye too yet she manages to lead what seems to be a happy life with a supportive husband.

I've heard that she's a crazy, latchy bitch behind closed door, but that's not my point. I'm not saying that it was just Eric. I'm saying a lot of women get turned into crazies b/c of ish like that. And it gets compounded. Having a stable and healthy relationship with your father is key for any person - man or woman. Women make bad decisions regardless of their father figure status though. Trust.

And even if she was crazy, he could have left, not cheated.

I'm so sick of women blaming their fucked up life choices on men. We all have issues, but our adult choices are own own. A crazy bitch is a crazy bitch whether she has a man or not.

Maybe in his case it is, but there have been studies done on adults who have been sexually abused and go on to form various addictions - sex being one of them. You can read up on it, I'm sure.

Just b/c you don't believe in something doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Humans are complicated beings and we all don't fall into nice, tidy categories or all have the same problems.

While it probably does exist, I think a lot of cheaters use it as an excuse when they don't really fit the criteria. People who are truly addicted probably act far more recklessly, losing friends, skipping work to sleep with someone, etc. Just cuz you like something a lot doesn't mean you're addicted and even if you are addicted, it's no excuse for cheating.

Yeah I know how complicated we are. I never said otherwise, and I stand by what I said. Too many people want to blame their problems and mistakes on others, when the root of their problems lie within themselves.

As far as studies go, their are just as many that conclude sex addiction is bogus, and others that see it as something real. At the end of the day it's all about what you want to believe.

I guess. I know for a fact that I have no good relationships with heterosexual adult males. I react very poorly to male authority figures except my grandpa and calling him an authority figure would be a stretch really. I don't blame anyone for that, but I'm sure not having positive male influences in my life as a kid has something to do with that.
