BET Awards 2007: The Ladies

I'm shocked and amazed at the lack of major fashion don'ts last night, considering the crowd. Even Lil' Kim, while I wouldn't have chosen that outfit/makeup/hair necessarily, could have done much, much worse. I'm not saying there weren't some questionable wardrobe and hair choices — I'm talking to Keyshia Cole and Vivica Fox specifically, here — but in general things were looking pretty good. More red carpet pics than you can handle after the jump.

Good/great: Alicia, Ciara, Kelly Rowland, Amerie

Saving the good stuff for the Grammy's: Michelle Williams, Eva, Tocarra, Lauren London,

Boo: Tracee Edmonds, Vivica, Beyonce, Solange, Eve, Chakah

I will note that it's better to take risks and fail (Beyonce) than to go for something supposedly fool-proof and look like a fool (Tracee Edmonds).

The one I'm really disappointed in is Eve. Did she break into her 1997 wardrobe for this mess?

I'm convinced Chaka Khan is incapable of picking out a decent outfit.

I very much side with daria's better to risk and fail rather than safe and offensive assessment.
Beyonce's dress almost worked. Well I liked the belt. But what is it with that girl and glitter? They'd benefit from a trial separation.

Chaka Kahn is Chaka Khan. In that realm with Aretha and Patti LaBaelle [I mean did you see Patti LaBelle's dress!], beyond bad, beyond criticism.

Biggest surprise: Lil Kim didn't look as bad as she could of.

I wish i could comment on the actual awards rather than just the dresses but they don't screen them in England. I'm gonna have to wait for snatches of the event to make their way onto youtube :[

Oh, and Eve. Why, Eve, why?
Three words: Escort agency couture.

OMG! Seriously, what is going on with Vivica?!? Is she for real?

Yea, dude, her whole get-up last night was a mess. The dress I could have forgiven, but that wig with those 1992 bangs. No forgiveness at all.

On second though, after looking at the dress again, I can't forgive that either.

Midlife crisis. She needs to get a new car and a 20 year old model like everyone else. This look is not working.
