The nominees are out for this years VMAs, which MTV is relocating to Las Vegas next month to switch things up, and it should come as no surprise that Justin Timberlake and Beyonce lead the nominees with 7 each. Kanye is close behind with five (please vote for him to avoid any on-air tantrums), and Amy Winehouse has three.
There are also some new, extraneous categories like "Most Earthshattering Collaboration," which I can tell is an extreme overstatement without even looking at the nominees.
Check the full list of noms after the jump.

[MTV]
I'm glad I'm too old to care what MTV thinks any more because the list is woeful. There is barely any real talent between the nominees, never mind anything worthy of an award.
I've been over these two.
My picks:
Video of the year - stronger by k west
Male artist of the year - robin thicke
Female artist of the year - amy winehouse's crack head
best new artist - lily allen, though amy winehouse is more talented
best group - maroon 5
collabo - sexyback w/ jt + timb
quadruple threat - BONO!
single - the way i are
director - what goes around comes around
editing - beautiful liar
choreography - like a boy
BMD's picks:
video - tie btwn irreplacable and rehab
male - TI (robin was a close second!)
female - Bey Bey (shocked aren't you?)
new artist - amy winehouse
group - the white stripes
collabo - none of these were earthshattering, but I will go with JT and Timba
Quad threat - Bey Bey
Monster single - this is the hardest one b/c i have to think about which song got on my nerves from the radio, the clubs and the ring tone. It is a 5-way tie:
lip gloss, buy you a drank, this is why i'm hot, umbrella and party like a rock star. BUT IF I HAVE TO PICK ONE WINNER: Party Like A Rock Star.
Director - Jake Nava (beautiful Liar)
Editing - Gnarls Barkly Smiley Faces
Choreography - Chris Brown (of course)
