Beyonce Wants To Make Room For Solange

From Marie Claire UK: "[Beyonce]’s been quoted in the past as saying there’s a time limit on being a pop star. ‘Being a pop star, yes,’ she responds. ‘Being a legend, an icon, absolutely not. And, at this point, that’s what I’m trying to do. I’m over being a pop star. I don’t wanna be a hot girl. I wanna be iconic. And I feel like I’ve accomplished a lot. I feel like I’m highly respected, which is more important than any award or any amount of records. And I feel like there comes a point when being a pop star is not enough.’"

Thank god! Beyonce, please step down! Make room for others. And allow people to not like you or your music without being called 'haters'!

Umm, shouldn't icons be making "iconic" music and not just club-bangers with a couple of mid-tempo tracks and a ballad tossed in for "diversity"?

hater:
1) one who hates
2) one who doesn't share the accuser's opinion

The accusations won't stop and she will not "step down." She'll just make an album that's a little more Mariah circa 1990s

Beyonce is not going to step down and even if she did Solange would not be the one taking her place.

All this "iconic" talk is to prepare us for her next album, Intellectual Virtuoso (sp). That name alone cracks me up. Beyonce may be one of the brightest stars in the sky but the sharpest knife in the drawer she is not.

*Waits for someone to call me a hater lol*

Bey did say she wanted to retire by the time she is 30.

Do icons writhe around on the floor? I'm just sayin. I'm thumbing through my icon Rolodex and I don't see no writhin.

Would Patti LaBelle be considered an icon? She kicks her shoes off and rolls around on the stage when she gets into it.

Yeah, Patti Patti would be considered an icon. I'd say she's writhing because she's "feeling it" … like you said … kinda like Ray Charles bouncing off that piano bench. Bey's selling sex on that floor.

…and not liking someone's music does not equal "hating". It's called "not liking". So ha!

Someone tell me please how Beyonce is iconic? To whom? Why do we keep lowering our standards? I was never a fan of Beyonce. I always thought that she was way over rated. Am I a hater? No, I just know what's really good and what mediocre. And I won't say a word about her clothes line. Her and her mother are delusional.

Oh by the way, if you're interested in a fantastic line, check out Gwen Stefani "Lamb". The very top retail shops carry her purses, shoes and perfume. She's one of the very few performers who are doing the "designer thing" well.
