Joe Biden called one of his and Barack Obama's ads "terrible" during an interview with Katie Couric, yesterday, then backtracked three hours later. The ad — the one that mocks John McCain for being computer illiterate — is terrible, mainly because they chose to attack McCain for that instead of all of the much more important issues there are to attack McCain for. Plus it just looked sort of low budget. But that's beside the point. The point is that Biden just gave the McCain camp a freebie: “Barack Obama has brought the sleazy gutter politics of Chicago to our national stage, exposing his call for a ‘new politics’ as a lie and embarrassing even his own running mate with the low road campaign he's running.” [CNN]
So what? If every McCain ad was ONLY as inappropriate as the Obama ad that Biden criticized, his campaign would exponentially less sleazy.
I always thought Biden's main weakness was his damn big mouth! He knows his stuff, but he "misspeaks" too many times for my taste.
Joe is entirely too old and has been in the Senate entirely too doggone long not to know how to say things. I swear sometimes these people intentionally sabotage…
Is it too late to replace this guy?
