During an ABC News interview in Liberia yesterday, Bill Clinton got "a little testy" with a reporter, as he is wont to do these days. She asked him if he had any regrets about anything he did while he was campaigning for Hillary Clinton. He said he does, but not the ones we think, which tells me he's probably still in denial about how he might have damaged his wife's campaign.
"Yes, but not the ones you think. And it would be counterproductive for me to talk about it."
Barely pausing for a breath, he added, "There are things I wish I'd urged her to do, things I wish I had said, things I wish I hadn't said. But I am not a racist, I never made a racist comment, and I didn't attack him personally."
I'm not sure if a large number of people really believe that Bill Clinton or his wife are serious racists. His recent detractors do believe that he was shamelessly using language that would appeal to voters who were serious racists. It can't come as a shock when this begins to rub people of all colors the wrong way. But that would probably be counterproductive to talk about. [WP]
His guilty conscience jumped right to the racism allegations. *SMH*
Obama got his nomination, is the annoying Clinton bashing on this site really neccessary??
Bill and Hillary are not racists, and to this day I still don't find his comments directed at Obama as racist in the least. He was stating the FACTS.
And this of course is what was the important part of his whole interview? not the fact that Liberia has an 85% UNemployment rate (+ all the problems that go along with this i.e. crime, alcoholism, drug abuse, child prostitution) and that its post-civil war potential is going down the toilet. Nope, make Obama's campaign the focus, because of course the black folk there don't matter. I'm sure BC hopped on a plane to Liberia for giggles because he so wanted his time and efforts wasted by this reporter
Blacks are the real racists.
