I think Bill Maher is funny and intelligent. However, he strikes me as a man who wouldn't get involved with a woman who is just as or more intelligent than he is (or think that he is). Is it unfortunate to you that he dates black women because of the color of their skin? What exactly do you mean by this comment? Is being a black person unfortunate to you? Are you a bigot? I would like some clarification as to what you meant by that comment.

There are plenty of super-smart, accomplished African-American women doing it and doing it well, and in many different fields. There is Oprah. Michelle Obama. Condoleeza Rice. Sheila Johnson. Maxine Waters. Eleanor Holmes-Norton. Alicia Keys. Venus and Serena Williams. Dr. Dorothy Height. Dr. Mae Jemison. Dr. Johnetta Coles. Linda Johnson Rice. Susan B. Taylor. Should I go on? I can go on and on and on with it. None of these women are slouches, and all of them are black. Bill Maher is probably too dumb to even hang with any of the above-mentioned ladies. I do believe he'd be the unarmed man in a battle of wits against most them.

What is unfortunate to me about this situation is that Karrine and other black women (and others more regardless of their ethnic origin) who choose to get involved with Bill Maher are allowing him to dog their self-esteem and body image in the first place. That right there shows that they have little to no self-respect. What I read on Wikipedia specifically about Karrine Steffans is that she was raped at 13 years of age. Rape is devastating on many levels, and I wonder if she ever got any type of counseling to deal with what happened to her. Rape can absolutely destroy your self-esteem and make you feel violated and dirty.
