Bob Johnson Sorry For Those Comments He Made About, Uh, Obama's Community Organizing

Bob Johnson has finally apologized for the quote heard 'round the world. If you don't remember, it went a little something like this:

"As an African-American, I'm frankly insulted that the Obama campaign would imply that we are so stupid that we would think Bill and Hillary Clinton, who have been deeply and emotionally involved in black issues when Barack Obama was doing something in the neighborhood that — and I won't say what he was doing, but he said it in his book — when they have been involved."

Although Johnson claimed that he was referring to Obama's community-organizing, no one except for the most die hard of Hillary Clinton (or Bob Johnson) optimists actually believed that he wasn't referring to Obama's documented drug use. Since the "explain-it-away" tactic not only didn't work, but garnered even more criticism, the BET founder issued this apology yesterday.

"I'm writing to apologize to you and your family personally for the un-called-for comments I made at a recent Clinton event," Johnson said in a statement. "In my zeal to support Senator Clinton, I made some very inappropriate remarks for which I am truly sorry. I hope that you will accept this apology. Good luck on the campaign trail."

Apparently, Obama has accepted. And now Bob Johnson should stay the hell off of the microphone at campaign rallies. [CNN]

1. When we try to heap dirt on someone, some of that dirt falls on us.
2. When we besmirch, do it at ones own peril.
3. God hates ugly.
4. Being of low character one will always look for low character in others.
5. The dirt I see in others is as dirty as my mind is.

It kinda frustrates me that a coon like Bob Johnson is in charge of a channel that calls itself, Black Entertainment Television, a channel that only succeeds in thoroughly embarassing and degrading educated and self respecting colored people.
