Nailah Franklin, a Chicago drug sales representative whose picture has been plastered on blogs (and even CNN!) since her disappearance last Tuesday has been found dead near a forest preserve in Calumet City, Ill., close to where her car was found a few days ago.
Chicago police interviewed a person of interest, but so far there are no suspects.
Update: Police are saying the body has not been identified.

These stories always hit me harder than others for some reason. My eyes start to water just looking at her picture. Where is the disconnect with the people who can harm others in this way?
What is the disconnect?
Same. I am really disappointed, but I'm glad her parents get some semblance of closure because there are many missing people who are long gone. Their families are still praying and waiting.
My general impression is that violent criminals are sociopath. There are just people who don't feel bad at all when they hurt others. They feel bad when they get caught. Scott Peterson is a perfect example.
Oh god, I hate to hear that. It's weird b/c the police just found the body of a woman that was missing in Bay City, MI. She'd also been missing for a while. People last saw her with a man near the docks where they found her body.
I guess the thing is that we (women) need to watch our backs more and try not to put as much trust in these cock-eyed ass men.
This is so sad. Two of my co-workers actually knew her. They both said that she was always complaining that she had a crazy ex and they both seem to think that it's possible that he was somehow involved. Pure speculation of course, and i'm sure the police have or will look into that angle.
So, how come when i look at cnn.com, the face i see is a white woman who'd been found alive after 8 days instead of Nailah? We as practically around the clock coverage and breaking news when they found that pregnant woman dead a few months back. I'm sick of the disparity.
