FAVORITES
Whether because of the reaction they got from readers or my own personal connection to the material, some posts are nearer to my heart than others. Many of my favorites were written since the recent introduction of Cord Jefferson as Stereohyped's Editor-at-Large.
• A Mighty Insult to Black Actresses Everywhere: I mentioned this rant/post, but it will always be one of my favorites for selfish reasons — it got me quoted in my favorite newspaper in the whole world, the Washington Post. Speaking of rants, I'm also fond of this one.
• Open Letters: These were always fun to write and great for venting.
• Posts About Interracial Dating — Looking for Mr. White, Stop Asking Me What Color Women I Date, Dating in Black & White: It's sometimes surprising that this is still a controversial topic, but the more we talk about it the more we work through it.
• Sam Fine's Makeup Basics Parts 1 & 2: Who doesn't love some beauty tips?
• Caught on a Hot Tin Roof: I met a childhood idol and made a complete fool out of myself, but it was worth it.
• This Rewound: Just 'cause.
• And now for my all-time-favorite posts — which were Cord Jefferson's fabulous idea — Lauren Asks, Am I Black Enough For Ya? and Cord Asks, Am I Black Enough For Ya? No explanation necessary.
Happy Bday stereohyped!!!this is my first post but I read everyday and you've done great with this site Lauren! Best blog ever! Keep it up…maybe I will eventually join the commenting community…one step at a time
Congrats!!

OMG! You're an airies! I knew I loved you for some reason, happy birthday!
congrats!
Yay!
Your site keeps crashing my Firefox
happy birthday!
You have the same birthday as Baby Cameron, a friend's baby, born today!!!!!
Happy Birthday Stereohyped!!!! I've been a fan since it started. I am actually using some info from your Interview with Lori Tharps on her book about black hair and its history in america, for my term paper in my Black Women in the U.S. course. I love this site, it has the great balance of gossip combined with politics and great topics that are relatable and spark great debates with comments (especially the interacial dating posts, and the "Am I Black Enough for ya"). Keep up the good work.
Congratulations, Laur! It's been a most groundbreaking year…bring back Stereohyped TV! I'm so proud of you, it's ridiculous. Happy birthday to Baby Cameron, too.
Congratulations Lauren! You're doing a great job here… although I do mourn what could have been (le cordon blues)
Happy Birthday Stereohyped/Lauren!!! I am SO proud of you and this site. Stereohyped has been a great addition to my life (but no so much to my work productivity). I looked through the archives today and you have done SOOO much with this blog in the past year!!! I look forward to even bigger things from Lauren Williams in the next year.
And since you asked…..I think the first piece of greatest you can do this year is incorporate your Le Cordon Blue schooling (thanks Nichelle) into this blog. Some of us undomisticated women need great receipes and wine choices for when we try to fake like we can cook.
Just a suggestion.
Happy Birthday, Stereohyped! Your site is amazing! I've been a fan of your site from the beginning. Keep up the great work!
Happy Birthday Stereohyped! You guys are doing a great job here. =)
Ok, I'll say it again here….you're wonderful and so is this blog.
Yay! I've filled my quota of compliments for the year! Now….back to the snark.
Congratulations! I really enjoy this website
Congrats! I consider this my little online "escape" LOL.
wow, congrats! pretty impressive that this blog is so young. my favorite black blog:)
Amazing first year from an amazing and talented young writer/editor. Your blog provides knowledge, entertainment, and incredible insight. Congratulations to Lauren, and a big thanks to all those who comment. Although I rarely comment, BMD, Daria, Ashley-Nicole, the fabulous Williams sisters, and all the regulars add so much to the blog.
Better Belated than never, Lauren! Great job. You keep me informed, entertained & stimulated…not to mention laughing
Happy B-day!!
Yay! I've definitely lurked on this site since the beginning. Love rewound–I usually end up sending my friends the links. One little quibble: I wish the formatting of the blog was easier to navigate a la jezebel?
Bon Anniversaire! My French is very distant, but you know what I mean.
