Supermodel Katoucha Niane died tragically in Paris a few months ago. Yves Saint Laurent, the designer who considered her one of his many muses, died this weekend in the same city. All of this death! Let's memorialize with some happy photos of Niane.

C'est avec grand regret que je te vois partir, Yves.

Certainly a great and soft-spoken fashion genius who hired black women of all shades as muses and models way before anyone else dared. A fantastic tailor and a couturier.
I am sad for his surviving partner (in love and in business) Pierre Bergé.

Let's not forget all the great work she did on the FGM front. She lobbied against it as did Waris Dirie. I'd like to think that this great work will be a big part of her legacy, not just the modeling as she was passionate about both.
