
June is officially Black Music Month, although, if one were to look at the Billboard Hot 100, once could argue that every month is black music month around these parts. But if we're talking history (and not Lil Wayne's "Lollipop"), we might want to think about the music label that changed the way Top 40 charts looked forever more. That's Motown, of course. Check out some of the artists that helped launch Motown (and more black music) into the mainstream.

It's crazy how Diana Ross, rather than Gladys, gets credited for introducing The Jackson 5 to Barry Gordy. Diana's stuff musta been made of gold.
