Tyra Banks' dramatic, long, Barbie wig at the Daytime Emmy Awards Sunday has a lot of folks talking about Tyra's hair habits over the years. Glamour did a retrospective. Here's my extended version (you get a hair and dating retrospective — remember Seal and John Singleton?). Around the 2001 mark, "hair" begins to permanently take on an entirely new meaning.

This is right on time.

Out in London the tabs have been all over Naomi Campbell for a picture that shows her hair loss due to all them dang weaves. One of the free newspapers even ran an article on the Afro and Afro Caribbean population (as we're referenced out here) and Naomi's hair sorrows with references to hair doctors that will treat the hair loss symptoms.

When did Tyra start fraternizing with the Jays? I believe one or both of them are the catalyst to some of these hairstyles.

Looking at all this, I realize that I've never cared for Tyra's hair-dos. Ever. I mean they were less bad before but it's always been kinda off or crazy.

My favorite, if I had to pick one, would be the one with the bangs.

SI cover was very nice. Also remember the year she went to the MTV awards with the Body by Victoria bra and skirt on. Kimora said her body was so sick that females grabed hold of their men when Tyra walked passed, and called her every dirty name in the book.

I remember that MTV outfit Chic Noir! I bought a slew of those VS tubes and stuff after that-when I was a bit younger and everything was naturally "happy." LOL
