Disco Barbie
After the announcement that Mattel was producing a collector's edition AKA Barbie for the sorority's centennial, I went to the Barbie site to check some other brown-hued collector dolls that have been released recently (that's Disco Barbie to your left). Fully expecting to scoff at the ridiculous Barbies with their unrealistic straight and long hair and their self-esteem-killing, impossibly-tiny waists, I found my internal seven-year old oohing and aahing at page after page instead. The Byron Lars Collection was especially compelling. Mad at myself.

Lauren,

I so hate having to admit that i love those Byron Lars dolls, too! I must back away from the Barbie catalogue. Must back away.

They used to have the Byron Lars Barbies on display at FAO Schwartz. Whenever we had to pass by I'd make my mom stop and visit the Barbies - just visit, though. My mother was not shelling out BL Barbie kind of loot!

I SAY I dont like Barbie but can't lie every year someone has to pull me away from the Black Holiday Barbie in the stores. I remember wanting a Black wedding Barbie so badly as a kid but my mother wouldn't by it for me. I bought one for myself like 3 years ago! She's still in the box. lol

I love Barbie. I've always wanted a holiday one and I will get it eventually. But I do have the black wedding one.

Barbie is the devil!!! She is FEIRCE though lol.

I remember when MAC teamed up with Barbie, everyone was losing their minds. Too bad none of the colors really went with my skintone.

OMG. I **NEED** Coco and the curly haired main one in Ms. Milan's outfit. As much as I hate weddings and wedding gowns, I have a soft spot for the Romance one.
