Debate Questioner Clears The Air
Yes, He Had Heard Of Fannie Mae And Freddie Mac

Oliver Clark, the young black man who asked a question about how the government's bailout package would help the average American during Tuesday's debate, had long known about Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Still, John McCain told him (and America) that he “probably never heard of Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac before this.” Many pundits and commentators remembered McCain's peculiar assumption and brought it — and the fact that he forgot Clark's name mid-answer — into the after-debate discussion. Reporters found the exchange so fascinating that they've been hounding Clark through his Facebook page. Instead of responding to each inquiry, Clark posted this message:

How did I feel about Sen. McCain stating “You probably never heard of Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac before this.”
Well Senator, I actually did. I like to think of myself as a fairly intelligent person. I have a bachelor degree in Political Science from Tennessee State, so I try to keep myself up to date with current affairs. I have a Master degree in Legal Studies from Southern Illinois University, a few years in law school, and I am currently pursuing a Master in Public Administration from the University of Memphis. In defense of the Senator from Arizona I would say he is an older guy, and may have made an underestimation of my age. Honest mistake. However, it could be because I am a young African-American male. Whatever the case may be it was somewhat condescending regardless of my age to make an assumption regarding whether I was knowledgeable about Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

I guess he wanted to be the "bigger person."

Lord knows I wouldn't have. I would've used this opportunity to tear McCain apart.

They sound like two cartoon characters. Marketable even, enough to be the two first scapegoats of this global scam of pulling the wool over the eyes of the sheep.

I know a lady named Pearlie Mae.

I found McCain to be horribly condescending at points throughout the debate. It wasn't just toward Clark- it seems like a lot of McCain and Palin's rhetoric assumes we're all uninformed, or downright stupid. They've confused "straight talk" with "talking down", and it's going to cost them the election.
