IRAQ
Hillary Clinton, whose major black eye in the Democratic race is that she voted for the war, although she clearly opposes it now, was opposed to a troop increase and wants to start withdrawing troops within her first 60 days in office. Other than that, she has not committed to a specific timetable.
Barack Obama has pledged to have all combat brigades out of Iraq within the first 16 months of his administration. He opposed troop increases and has spoken out against the war from its inception.
John McCain supported and continues to support the war in Iraq, despite being critical of the way the Bush administration has handled it. He is opposed to withdrawing troops, believing the current strategy is working. He has said that he would not be opposed to leaving troops there indefinitely.
Mike Huckabee supports the troop increase and is opposed to a withdrawal timetable. He believes Bush should have sent more troops to Iraq at the beginning of the war. Believes "Iraq is a battle in our generational, ideological war on terror."
Mitt Romney supports the war and last year's troop increase. He has no dedicated Iraq section on his campaign Web site, although there is a section called "Confronting Radical Jihad."
War - Clinton's because I was for it too when I thought my safety was at great risk even though that area of the world is, as Romney would say, a tar baby. On the time tables, etc., the Dems needs to chill on that because there's a difference between what people want to hear and what you can actually be accomplished. They need a little committee of high level military leaders, past and present, to come up with a realistic plan.
Healthcare - Romney. This is really an issue best left to the state. I'd like Clinton's (basically Massachusetts plan but federal) but there are certain things the federal government just can't handle well. This would likely be one of them.
Stimulus - Huckabee. Is it good for our deficit? No, but beats the hell out of having no money. On cost-effectiveness, none. Most likely scenario: Clinton's.
Gorgeous Black Women
I'm in one of the Super Tuesday states and I just wanted to thank you for this guide. I was undecided between Obama & Clinton, although leaning more towards Obama and this helped me finalize that decision. Although if Clinton does win, I might be okay with it. Still, for my personal interests - young, low-income student, Obama's the best bet.
MIke Huckabee says he wants to put more money into prevention and reserach huh. Well without insureance most people can not afford the drugs that will be developed as a result of research.
