Disney: Providing Entertainment And Perpetuating Stereotypes For Decades

Cracked compiled a list of the nine most racist Disney characters. High up, as you can imagine, was the little slave-girl centaur in Fantasia who so dutifully polished the blond centaur's feet. And don't get me started on Uncle Remus and Song of the South. But it should come as no surprise that many of the comments on the post are worse than even the most egregious of Disney's stereotypical characters. At least we can blame the Disney animators' ignorance on the era.

It reminds me of those old Tex Avery era Looney Tunes cartoons. You should see Coal Black and the Seven Dwarves. It's scary to see just how openly ignorant people used to be. But sadly, it isn't as scary as the fact that people are still that ignorant in private.

Wow. In fact this racism doesn't show in all white cast anime like : Snow White, Sleeping Beauty or Beauty and the Beast.

Maybe it's time for "black" people to create/produce the anime movies they want to show to their own kids.
