Eddie Murphy's made a lot of movies. Some of them are hilarious, but many of them are very, very bad. And now it's looking like he's had enough. "I have close to fifty movies and it's like, why am I in the movies?" he said. "I've done that part now. I'll go back to the stage and do standup." Eddie Murphy film fans, don't get too upset yet. There's still Meet Dave, in theaters July 11th. Hopefully, if this really is his last movie, he didn't approach it with the same attitude with which he approached Beverly Hills Cop 3: "They said this is how much we're going to pay you. I said, 'let's go shoot it! I don't care if the script ain't right." But, if you've seen the trailer you probably aren't very optimistic on that front. [Extra]
Good riddance
He's been godawful for years. Maybe going back to stand-up could invigorate him a little; he is after all one of the great American comedians.
Well Mr. Murphy, it's been real. I don't even think he'll make it in stand-up either. He probably takes himself way too seriously.
Awesome! I always hate when talented, funny comedians decide they want to be movie stars instead *cough…Chris Rock..cough*
Now the question remains is Eddie still a funny comedian? Maybe he should don some hoodies and shades and practice in local dive bars before his cable one man show debut.

Houston will host the Sankofa: A Global Reunion kick-off event in September. We are in the process of scheduling a meeting with our Mayor to discuss a set date and time for this event. Seven (7) African kings from Ghana (West Africa) have agreed to come to participate in this event. Eddie Murphy will see that his 'Coming to America' is nothing compared to Dr. Gideon Adjei's 'Coming to America' for these seven kings are coming for their sons and daughters, and not just for their son.
The Houston's Sankofa Concept considers the horrific ills and painful lingering memories of slavery. It emphasizes the commonality of humanity, as well as reconciliation and reunion between indigenous Africans and people of African descent, especially African Americans.
In the wake of current global wind of change on our part of the microcosm, Dr. Gideon Adjei, a direct descendant of African and Dutch slave traders, received a divine awakening that the time is now for African Americans to hear an apology for the tragedies suffered during and since that dreadful time in America’s history.
Eddie, how can we invite you to this event!
