Melanie "Scary Spice" Brown has been saying it all along, but I could never understood why she would have planned a pregnancy with a man she had not been dating for very long. But really, by Hollywood standards a few months are equivalent to a few years, and, because money is no object, pregnany is not something that takes an extensive amount of planning. Also, when you're Eddie Murphy and might have something you'd like to hide about yourself, nothing works better than a quick rebound marriage and another kid to show your virility.
Melanie tells Essence.com in a recent interview that she and Eddie Murphy had agreed to remove her IUD and planned to get married last Christmas. Clearly it didn't work out, and she thinks it's because she questioned Eddie about his "lifestyle."
MEL B: First of all, I'm a very independent woman so if you're trying to control me, that's not going to happen. In any relationship, it's all about compromise. We were going to buy a house in Malibu and move in together. Somehow things got confused along the way because there were certain things that went on in his house with his lifestyle that I wasn't prepared to be a part of. So that became a trippy discussion, which ended up where we both refused to budge.
ESSENCE.com: What is it about his lifestyle that you don't like?
MEL B: I have a baby with this guy so I have to be somewhat respectful. I'll simply say that there were lifestyle changes that he would have to make if we were going to live together and do it properly. I have a house where it's about my kids and me. I don't have people knocking on my door at 3 and 4 in the morning. I have a very simple life—I don't have a ton of people looking after my kids—I'm a very regular person when it comes to that because I want my kids to have a normal life as much as possible.
By "regular person," I would assume that Melanie meant "not being a beard to a closeted, control-freak comedian." She's lucky she got out when she did. Not lucky? Eddie Murphy! Especially if the recent paparazzi shots of Melanie and famed attorney Gloria Allred are any indication of what's ahead for him.

The only thing worse than some no child-support paying deadbeat daddy is a rich, no child-support paying deadbeat daddy. Hell, deadbeat dads at least inquire about their kids and see them once in a while. He is so wrong. He basically lied, defamed her and is not a man at all. I haven't liked him for a long time, but despise him now.
I agree with Victoria Beckham. "Beverly Hills C–k. " “I’d spit in his food definitely. I’d chop his dick off too.”
However this should be a lesson to ALL women. Don't ever, ever, ever stop your birth control until you AT LEAST have three things:
1. wedding ring w/ date set and invitations sent*
2. name on deed to house
3. name on insurance policy
*preferably you will already be married
