Elisabeth Hasselbeck made an obvious appearance last week at the Republican National Convention, where she gave a very obvious speech trashing Michelle Obama and applauding Cindy McCain. Liz wanted her audience to know that when Obama came to The View she had a list of topics she didn't want discussed. Apparently, Cindy McCain had no such list because she has "nothing to hide." Of course, it never occurred to Hasselbeck that McCain knew from experience that no one would ask her questions about her drug addiction or about stealing from her charity to fuel said drug addiction. And no one did. Instead, she was given the opportunity to answer to a charge that she stole a recipe from the Food Network. Michelle, who has nothing in her past that in any way approximates the skeletons in Cindy's closet, has been attacked by the media time and time again. A thinking person wouldn't blame her for trying to exert some control over the rumor mill. Plus, if Michelle Obama had something to hide, we'd have heard about it long ago.
Meanwhile, Sarah Palin, whose opinions count for far more than Cindy McCain's or Michelle Obama's ever will, continues to hide from the media. Unlike loyal TV personalities like Hasselbeck, real journalists don't "behave" well enough for Palin's liking.
After the jump, see that sneaky Michelle Obama dancing on Ellen's season premiere yesterday.
You know a couple of things came across my mind to say about this trick…I mean chick…but why bother. She's not worth it.
Hasselbeck? As in the Elisabeth? That predictable cry baby from The View? Trying to trash Michelle Obama?
I mean, the very thought is preposterous. Doesn't she know she'd get eaten for breakfast if she ever tried to sit down and actually have a conversation/debate with Michelle?
It's laughable. Ditto chynadoll. She's not worth it.
I wonder how Michelle Obama's next appearance on The View will go - the one where she's First Lady and Elisabeth will have to resort to kissing her behind to keep her seat.
Baba Wawa won't like Elisabeth talking foul about her guests in that way. And we have seen what happens when folks run their mouths…Debbie, Star, or Rosie would be glad to put her on.
I just can't stand her. She angers me so much!
The mantra of the repulicans….ATTACK, ATTACK, ATTACK
Elisabeth gets mad support from people. You don't even understand how much support she gets. That's why she feels so free to open her mouth so much. There are so many people who are all 'You GO, Elisabeth. YOU GO GIRL!!!' (Even though people stopped saying You Go Girl 15 years ago.) smh
I like watching The View but I cringe every time Elisabeth opens her mouth. I'm much for people having opinions but she is a little much. We get the she is a Republican no one can forget it being that she spouts it left and right.

I love Michelle's dancing.
I'll be so glad when Whoopi reaches over and slaps the hell outta her azz!!
OMG, I would pay to see Whoopi smack that stupid look right off her face:)
I just e-mailed the view about her talking about Michelle Obama. Maybe,we can get a few more to e-mail the VIEW so they will take notice that the black audience is upset with her and her Racism!
I like how Michelle O. kinda gave Ellen a quick but noticable(sp?) "back off, I don't swing that way" gesture…But Hasslebeck is annoying though…
@J, "You go girl", LOL. Ah those crazy Repugs.
Give me a break. Elisabeth is trying to make a career for herself and using people with real accomplishments to do that. Just remember where she came from — Survivor? 'Nough said!
What SweetDiva said
Sharon, do black people watch the View?
when i was a young man my heart told me i was a liberal and as i grew older and my family i relized that i am a conservative and tou will to.
special k the only real news woman is the old one
do you only talk to people who agree with you just like liberal hahahahahahaha.
I am soooooo sick of watching her on The View!!
You know, I really miss Rosie from The View. Don't get me wrong, Whoopi can hold her own and put that "petty wannabe" in her place at a moments notice (and yes, Whoopi does need to slap some sense into her One-Good-Time), but Rosie managed to keep "Kid Hassel" on the ropes the majority of the time. Ms. Walters SHOULD, but won't, say something to this right-wing, ultra-conservative, BUSH/McCain-backing, Hannity-worshipping, Racist (YES, I SAID THE "R" WORD) individual about keeping in-house, backstage information just that - IN-HOUSE. And furthermore, Mrs. Obama could wipe the floor with that @#$&!@#, but she has more class, dignity, and sophistication about her than Elizabeth. And finally, even though she was invited to "attend" a formal dinner at the White House, Mrs. Michelle Obama will soon be "giving" those formal White House dinners.
Oogie, they're all "Word up, Elisabeth! Right on, you dig? Play that funky music whitegirl!" *eyeroll*
The wife of the career backup quarterback is annoying regardless of her political conviction. She'd be a horrible advocate for liberal/ progressive/moderate politics.
I wrote to The View, too, after the wife of the career backup QB did her little piece on the RNC Convention and after seeing the clip on Larry King last night. Since when did The View turn into Fox News? It's Republican week on The View: Monday — wife of the career backup QB at the Repub convention; Tuesday — Meghan McCain; Thursday — Jessica Simpson; Friday — McCain and his wife. The wife of the career backup quarterback probably knows that her days are numbered (as is the show) and is gunning for a gig with Fox News for her after-life. BTW, if you want to see a refreshingly witty and genuine (real) blonde, turn off The View as I have, and turn on The Bonnie Hunt Show.
1) E Hasselbeck: another blond, white, young Republican mouth on TV - that regularly wears the cross around her neck: Coulter, Inghram, Hasselbeck.
2) Another pro- war young Republican with nothing to lose. If she suuports this war so much - why doesnt football player, hubby Tim enlist ?
Pat Tillman did.
America is a free country & everybody, including Elisabeth of 'The View', has a right to his / her opinions. If she is wrong, we may point it out with a counter supported by facts & figures. I feel that would be healthy in a democracy! What do you say?
I just sent the following email to "The View"…
I am a working woman unable to watch "The View" on a regular basis, so this matter may have been addressed already. But if not, I'd like to know when Elizebeth is going to be asked why she felt she had the right to bring up Michelle Obama's visit in a negative way while at an RNC/Cindy McCain event. I could be wrong here, but regardless of what political party anyone claims, despite disagreements, dislikes, dis-anything, aren't the hosts of "The View" supposed to have some level of integrity and respect ALL guests who agree to come on the show and not take it upon themselves to go to ANY kind of function and say to a room full of people how YOU thought negatively of that person because of an act on their part that YOU considered to be a negative (especially when your comments benefit your preferred political party)? I know she didn't say Michelle Obama's name, but does that really matter? Going home and having a private discussion about your personal thoughts with your spouse and/or friends is totally different from going to a filmed, political event and saying those things to a room full of strangers. I watched that show with Michelle Obama co-hosting and she was gracious, poised, entertaining and PROFESSIONAL. I find it incredibly insulting that Elizebeth chose to belittle that experience with her comments. So I ask again, when is she going to be called out on it? Or does it really even matter? Maybe she'll just start crying again and say there can obviously only be one opinion on the matter and claim to be misunderstood…you know, like victims do.
I also emailed The View and encourage others to do the same. They could be paying attention. Currently, they are featuring a clip of Hasselbeck defending Obama and his lipstick comment (Google: Hasselbeck Defends Obama). It's funny to see Hasselbeck double back and come to his defense. I hope that they ripped her to pieces. My guess is that she will be more selective and scrupulous the next time!

I CAN'T STAND THAT BITCH! SHE'S OPINIONATED AND STUPID! I NO LONGER WATCH THE VIEW. SHE NEEDS TO BE REMOVED FROM THE SHOW.
I don't believe Jessica Simpson is a Republican, even though she's a blond from Texas. I think she's of the Dixie Chicks Texans–embarrassed that Bushie's from there. However, that whole GOP, Toby Keith country thing is a theme this week. I refuse to watch. I've thought Elizabeth was an idiot since before she was hired and she has proven every day that I was and am still, right. I just watched Palin contradict herself and try to stay on the talking points Bush/McCain gave her on Nightline. Amusing and annoying (esp. that damn voice of hers).
I heard so much about this speech Elisabeth gave at RNC that I had to watch for myself. Then in reading several of the blogs about this speech and Elisabeth's behavior "unprofessional" demeanor etc etc. I realized one important fact in all this. WE are a UNITED country of people with FREEDOM to speak however, whenever, and to whomever we wish. REGARDLESS of how it comes off! Lets revisit the facts….Michelle Obama has brought this negative attention to herself. Sarah Palin having a pregnant daughter brings negative attention to herself. WE glorify it by reading, watching, and blogging…I obviously too fit the profile. I guess ask yourself this question, Do I continue to point fingers even though its US the public who fuel the fire?" How sad we as a society have become. Have at it Elisabeth ! Enjoy your freedom of speech- and I honestly dont care if you cry alot.
