see, i thought the opposite. i had been thinking she had been looking much better than this lately and this was a letdown (the weave and that she looked kind of tired). To each his own…

In the top set of pictures, I was going to say that Solange looked nice (despite her outfit)…but she was back to her usual in the bottom set. Her son looks absurd.

OMG. Essence was off the fucking chains!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just got back 12 a.m. today. Loved every minute of it. It’s the black Mardi Gras. I only went to the Friday concert…Robin Thicke, Chris Brown with an appearance by Bow Weezy and my girl Beyonce tore the !@#$% stage up! And that is a big understatement. Her backup singers were these three big girls ala-Monique. And her all girl band broke it down! The girl is bad, y’all Period! That was my 3rd time seeing her and by far the best performance of hers. She ended the concert with Irreplaceable and everybody was on their feet and singing and every hand was going to the left, to the left! Robin Thicke sounded good, but he needs to stop dancing b/c ppl were not feeling that. His voice sounded really smooth, but he ended his set with an Al Green song…ehh. Wrong answer, baby. The crowd was like…ok white boy we gave you a long leash and now you are fucking it up. Don't mess with Al Green, homie, unless you can come reeeeal correct. Which he did not. Chris Brown makes me want to be 17 so I can have a crush on him w/o out looking foolish. He’s such a cutie. He did a little homage to Michael Jackson that had everybody in the Dome dancing. I didn’t get to the super lounges b/c no one interesting was playing the night I was there IMO, but one of my homies went to all three shows and said Common was bomb so I am sad that I didn’t get to see him. Oh well. My feet have blisters all over them from flossin in my stilletos for 4 days straight, but it was all worth it. LOL. The marketplace was cool and I ran into some of my LA peeps totally on the random who were there selling jewelry. The cast of the Wire was at the market place as were the casts of other black shows. I didn't wake up early enough to see Hillary Clinton (or and of the political ppl, writers, etc) I think she went on the seminar stage at like 10 a.m. or something. On a crazy note, I chatted Tyler Perry up at dinner at the Court of Two Sisters. He was there on the low with a small entourage and me and my girl were the bar at that point so I said "I love Madea" and he said (as Madea) "She loves you, too, baby." Cute. There may be something to those rumors about him, but he’s cute nonetheless.

The hottest party was thrown by LL Cool J at club Dream and that was the spot to be. I’m always biased and say that no one can floss better than LA people, but some people in that club could change my mind. The tight bodies, booty, fashion and hair, etc. was on hit at club Dream. And no one started a fight or tried to kill somebody else. LOL. BTW -the song that is about to blow up is the "A bay bay" song by Hurricane Chris. Trust me. Every club, truck, car, whatever was bumping that in NOLA. Essence is the best music festival I’ve ever been to. Better than Jazz Fest even…which absolutely I love. Essence did the damn thing!

Ha haaa, diva. I know what you're talkin about with that A bay bay song. I was chillin in the Chi during my firecracker b-day and that song is hilarious!! I hadn't heard it till I got there. The first time I heard it, I was like, "what is this junk", but by the time I left a week later, it was kinda the jam. LOL
