Even Militant Blacks Reviewing Beliefs After Obama Win
Hope

A black nationalist writes in today's Atlanta Journal-Constitution about how Obama's election has forced him to rethink his stances on the opportunities this nation affords African Americans. Muhammad Yungai's final conclusion: "I am still wary of the promise of these opportunities because of the gross structural inequities built into 'the system.' But given the psyche-shattering results of this election, I am willing to at least meet anyone halfway in the new pursuit of that promise."

co-sign…actually, I think plenty of other people of color are doing the same in some cases.

If people would start spending more time talking about and dealing with the "gross structural inequities" and less time being offended because the salon at J.C. Penney's won't do relaxers, I'd be even more hopeful.

THE HYPOCRISY OF BARACKRACY

9. WE BELIEVE that the offer of integration is hypocritical and is made by those who are trying to deceive the black peoples into believing that their 400-year-old open enemies of freedom, justice and equality are, all of a sudden, their “friends.” Furthermore, we believe that such deception is intended to prevent black people from realizing that the time in history has arrived for the separation from the whites of this nation.

If the white people are truthful about their professed friendship toward the so-called Negro, they can prove it by dividing up America with their slaves.

We do not believe that America will ever be able to furnish enough jobs for her own millions of unemployed, in addition to jobs for the 20,000,000 black people as well.

I hate to be a party-pooper too, but just coz Obama (erroneously referred to simply as being black) was elected president, does not mean that America is less racist than you guys thought. He was elected over McCain-Palin for f-word's sake! It's not like it ever seemed they had a chance, especially with Bush's legacy. If you look at America's voting history, we pretty much "flip-flop" every 8 years. It was the Democrats' turn to win and it would've been difficult to fuck it up with sucker opponents like Palin.
