Fashion Designers (And Wannabe Fashion Designers) Love Barack Obama
Runway To Change

The promised Runway to Change line from the Barack Obama campaign arrived a while ago, and high-priced ($60-$70) t-shirt designs from big names have been steadily popping up on the campaign Web site for weeks. I'm partial to the Tracy Reese long-sleeved tee, myself, but there are plenty more options from Tory Burch, Nanette Lepore, Jay-Z, Beyonce and Tina, Pharrell Williams, Zac Posen, Naricso Rodriguez, and others to choose from.

It should read "Join the socialist Party."

You clearly don't know what "socialist" means, otherwise you wouldn't write that. But uneducated people generally vote Republican.

I have to laugh at people who just learned their is a word "socialist" and keep throwing it around without having a clue

I bought a great T-shirt directly from the Obama web site. And very reasonably priced and lots of designs to choose from.

$60 for a t shirt? With the economy being as volatile as it is right now? I am an Obama supporter, but having Juicy Couture create campaign t-shirts doesn't exactly help Obama's defense against the "elitist" argument. Furthermore, my support for Obama originated in his eagerness to change the status quo and represent the middle class by providing social services, etc. I do not feel that charging $60 for a t-shirt reflects Obama's stated priorities.
This is almost on par with McCain not knowing how many residences he owns while Americans everywhere lose their (only!) homes.

The t-shirts and the other items for the Runway to Change collection are designed to raise money. It's like instead of just donating $60, you get a cute little t-shirt too. So, I really don't think it's elitist at all. For people who were going to give that much anyway, it's like a bonus. I bought an adorable Diane von Furstenberg tote bag from the collection. There are other much less expensive Obama campaign items to buy too.

Most of the tees on Obama's site are priced from $22-$28 dollars. I was going to donate to the campaign, but instead I bought $100 worth of tees for my family. That way, I contributed to the campaign and had several presents to give away as well.

Yes, I actually just blogged about this myself. I adore the Tracy Reese Long T. But we're trying to figure out if the sizes are true or "fashion." Going to take a chance and get it in my regular size. Hope it fits!

As for the cost debate, I was going to donate $50 bucks to the campaign this month anyway. So, I'm technically only spending $20 dollars on my Tracy Reese T — okay not really, but fuzzy math helps feel better about my purchase. :)

These shirts are really cute. I like the Nanette Lepore & Tracy Reese ones the best. Does anyone know if they're true to size???

I don't get it-why so much Obama love? He and his wife hate this country. I really think all the people who show up to see him read from a teleprompter are just there because it's cool. Have you researched this guy? Check out what he did in Illinois politics, check out ACORN, check out Tony Rezko, listen to whole Rev Wright sermons. Why has this man's grandmother, who sent him to prep school in Honolulu (aka the one he called a racist) not made any type of appearance? Why have they not found any of his school friends or anyone who took one of his classes. There are years missing from his resume, where are they? Why can't he even author one bill in two years. If he cares so much and is so upset about the economy-where has he been in the Senate? He is all about himself, he doesn't care about this country and not even his party. What a joke this guy is. No one cares about issues anymore!!!!!! Nobama!
