So this is WAY past the many things I shrug off or laugh at when Fox reports. "Baby mama" is so offensive. Okay, if you're joking about yourself and your partner, fine, but you can't refer to a politician's wife as his "baby mama."
Outraged liberals need to realize that this is part of the B.S. that comes with your man running for election and Cindy McCain's very hands-off style has been criticized ad nauseum on CNN and all but said that she's a bad wife. How long can you really say that the woman isn't really doing any campaigning and that she won't release her tax documents cuz it's nobody's business.
I guess because their "black baby" is adopted, Cindy might not qualify as baby mama though his ex wife, whose looks have also come under fire, might be fair game.
This is just the opening salvo. They are going to go after Michelle with pick axes and knives. I think we know that you can say almost anything about a black woman in this country. And a black woman with an education and her own opinion? We'll look back on this day in the campaign as the good old days before Fox gets through.
Also, check out Jackandjillpolitics.com. They list a site that is going to keep track of the attacks against Michelle and help launch a defense. They want to form a sister circle around her and put the kibosh to some of the nonsense.
Didn’t she introduce Barack at a speech as her “baby daddy?”
I seriously doubt that she did. IF (and I just can't imagine that) she did, then she brought the "baby mama" comment on herself.
If Michelle brought it on herself for saying it 4 years ago, then using that same logic, can we start calling Cindy McCain a C.U. Next Tuesday, cause McCain called her that in front of reporters a few years ago? There's no call for or excuse for it from a supposed new organization.
@Mia: if she did that, she brought the insult on herself. Not saying she DESERVES it necessarily, but she did open the door for that. There is no way she can expect to reduce herself to Maury guests and expect people not to get on her a– about it.
Hell, at least reasonable people (not the impressionable undecideds) can look at their other completely random attacks on her and see that it's election year B.S. plus our society's backwards issues.
She'll have Hillary 92 stigma because she out-earned her husband, had the same education as he did AND worked full-time. In case you've forgotten, you can't be ambitious AND a good wife-mother. If you want to be an ambitious woman, you must opt for the Oprah/Condi path.
Then she quit her job to campaign for him so of course the "feminists" will s–t on her for bowing to her husband's ambitions, forgoing her own.
I'm sure the natural hair brigade will crap on her for relaxing her hair as well as their daughters. Horrible mother she is.
Then white people hate her hair style.
But she wears pearls and seems to never wear pants so that's cool that she doesn't dress like a dude. There's some Nancy Reagan-Jackie O goodwill as a result.
I agree with Beana and khia213. Reporters are not third graders. They should be able to distinguish appropriate labels from inappropriate ones. As we all learned in elementary school just because some one else does something doesn't mean you can too. Using terms like this is more reflective of the user than the subject.

Well said khia 213.

Sometimes I think we in America get caught up in petty sh*t when it comes to our politicans. Imagine if one of the canidates had married a woman like Carla Bruni.
Or dared to marry a woman like Bruni after being elected. I think some people would be ready to have him impeached.
There is NO WAY that she could have brought this on herself. Im so sick of people ignoring things like this as if it's normal or shift the blame on the victim. NO its crazy to devalue Mrs. Obama in a way such as this. It is so easy and so easily accepted to insult a black woman these days. DAMN!
I thought the "CU Next Tuesday" was going to be an October issue.
If you refer to your husband as your "baby daddy," should you be shocked if someone refers to you as his "baby mama" by Fox News? That's all I'm saying. If MSNBC or CNN or anyone else said that, I'd be sending a strongly worded letter right now. But it's Fox. Lowered expectations. Someone said they aren't third graders and should know what is and isn't an appropriate label. Well, I hold them to lesser standards than I hold 3rd graders.
If you check out the transcript, you'll see that Michelle Obama never called her husband her "baby daddy." She said "babies' daddy" which has different connotations. And it was appropriate in the context.
@ilnazhad - She has 2 babies so she was grammatically correct. The connotation is still the same. It's like ending the n-word with "er" or "a" - either way it is still a slur.
What she said was my babies' daddy - as in a plural of baby and a possessive - which is grammatically correct. The term 'baby daddy' is perjorative and demeaning as is the intent behind the phrase.
I think Michelle invited this one. Didn't she introduce Barack at a speech as her "baby daddy?"

Hell naw! They are just so extra with it.
Faux news and their blatant racism sicken me. Going after Michelle Obama is a bad idea all around.
Completely uncalled for, whether Michelle Obama said it or not.
Didn’t she introduce Barack at a speech as her “baby daddy?”

This whole campaign season has been racist and mysogynistic so I am not surprised.

She did inroduced Barack as her baby's daddy but that does not give Faux Nooses the right to use it to insult her.

I'm not saying it wasn't uncalled for…
But Obama and "baby mama" rhyme.
@Ali: but it's Fox news
