Glamorous Business As Usual At the Costume Insitute Gala

met_beyonce.jpg

One of the most glamorous annual events in New York City, the Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, was held last night. As usual, the stars showed up to the party — this year's theme was "Superheroes: Fashion and Fantasy" — in all of their designer finery, and as usual, some gowns were finer than others. Loads more pics after the jump.

Most people didn't get the memo about the theme, huh?

With the exception of Anna Wintour, Mrs. Parker, Thandie Newton and Joy Bryant I'm not seeing the superhero fantasy element.

Bey looks very nice. Love the hint of roots in her hair.

Beyonce- Just gorgeous, although I would of changed the hair.

Liya Kabede- cute, but I think she can do better. Vogue frequently names her one of the best dressed but I do not think she is very stylish.

Iman- A Goddess, she is the most regal looking woman to ever have walked the planet. It was not a stretch for her to play an Egyptian queen in Michael Jackson’s video.

Eva Lingoria- Looks very pretty, fresh and young.

Posh- LOL at Posh getting her Anna Wintours on.

Katie “Bot” Holmes- I love the way she played with color and she is really coming into her own fashion wise.

My fairy godfather, Andre Leon Tally got Venus looking fly. Venus’s body type is much easier for him to work with in contrast to Jennifer Hudson.

I am still loving the Olsen twins. They remind me of American versions of Kate Moss style wise.

I like Mary’s dress.

Jlo’s dress is also nice, and it is good to see that she is taking her time losing the baby weight. I am very sick to Hollywood and the tabloids making a race of which star can lose the baby weight the fastest. A woman’s life is at stake when she gives birth people!

Joy’s Pucci dress is cute.

Oh Anna, for once she looks very happy. Keep that smile in place when Italien Vogue's July issue outsells the American one.

Hotness: Iman, Eva L, Andre 3000, Scarlett (though she looks washed out. Everything's right except the color)

Yawn: Ms. Jackson, Paula (but her make up and accessories are hot), Julia, Olsens (is that a baby bump on the one who eats?!),

Did Paula Patton have a miscarriage? I thought she was due this summer.

WTF: Thandie, Katie Holmes, J Lo, Joy Bryant (too. much. Pucci), Anna, Posh (actually, her make up, not the dress)

Beyonce: looks nice but pick another silhouette. Don't love the pepto bismol color either.

Kimora: don't open your mouth like that boo. The mermaid cut is not cute and that fabric looks matronly when made into something full length. A cocktail length would be a much younger look.
Thandie very slimming dress. And she is one of the few people who wouldn't benefit from this.

Looks like Andre found a new victim. Venus was doing very well without you.
