From Think Progress: "On Tuesday, the House passed a formal apology for slavery and racist segregation laws, recognizing that 'African-Americans continue to suffer from the consequences of slavery and Jim Crow.' Yesterday, Glenn Beck spent nearly 30 minutes on his radio show mocking the apology. He continued expressing his outrage on his CNN Headline News show last night, during a discussion with Ron Paul. Paul wondered why Congress should apologize, since ' personally weren’t responsible.” Beck claimed that the apology “was a front [sic] to the principles of Christianity.'"
Yeah, because there is nothing more anti-Christian than apologizing for someone's wrong doings. How un-Christlike
Glen Beck isn't a Christian which would explain the confusion.
Whatever he is, he's an annoying idiot.
He's about to be as big an idiot as O'Reilly.
Political nonsense that congress is even wasting their time on this. Slavery was wrong period and there is no apology that is even valid. It's nothing more than a political issue to try and make members of congress look good and caring and I'm proud that Ron Paul called it for what it was.
If those politicians really gave a crap about it they would do what they could to stop the run away inflation via the federal reserve which is nothing more than a transfer of wealth from the poor to the rich that keeps the poor people, the majority of whom are black, poor.
Everytime they print up more money it devalues the current dollars. This in turn makes prices rise and it is the poor people and those on fixed income who suffer the most as they are not able to buy the same amount of food and things they needed as before. Why don't you see these people bringing up this issue rather than some dumb apology that makes them simply appear good?
