Despite the polls showing Barack Obama in a comfortable lead in New Hampshire, Hillary Clinton has won the state's primary, along with some much-needed momentum. Was it her late-breaking show of emotion or did people just lie when they said they were voting for Obama? The latter strikes me as more plausible, but it could be a combination of the two. Anyway, enjoy Clinton's speech, although, if you haven't seen it, you should wait until after your morning coffee. Check Barack Obama's "Second Place Ain't Bad" speech and the stats from the primary, which John McCain won on the GOP side, after the jump.

I don't even know why people pay so much attention to Iowa and NH, two states that have little in common with others. You can't even project other wins based on them. I am surprised that Romney didn't win. I was totally off base with the republicans. I thought for sure it would be Romney then McCain then Huckabee close behind.
I have to say though that if Romney doesn't win the GOP nominations, I'll be happy because the Dems will then have a shot in hell of winning. With the exception of being Mormon, Romney is very "presidential" (and I'm sure you can figure that one out). Yes, he has his f-ups, but overall, he's been a successful leader and he's the only leading Republican whose life and record can probably withstand thorough public scrutiny.
I just love that deranged look she gave when she pointed to one of her supporters in the audience in the first few seconds of the video!
I will be voting for Hillary in the primaries once they hit FL.
Sorry to Obama, you lost me when you allied yourself with Joe Lieberman and Donnie McClurikin, but the nail in the coffin was when Obama said he'd run a bipartisan government.
Under Obama and his "bipartisan government" NeoCons will still be in control and Obama another Manchurian candidate.
You lost me Obama when all you do is talk about change and have no concrete plan to make it happen.
Just because Obama is black doesn't mean he's going to do FOR BLACKS. What have Condoleeza Rice, Clarence Thomas and Colin Powell done for black people other than perpetuate the oppression under a Republican government?
Anybody but Clinton for me. If Hillary wins the nomination, I'd hope for McCain on the Republican side because that's where my vote would go.
A race that has become closer. Effectively a 2 person race between Obama and Clinton. Exciting stuff and still confident for Barack.
I think that Hillary getting the nomination would be the only thing that would insure a huge republicant turnout in November. Her negs are so high you can't get over them, so wide you can't get around them. ANYbody but her.
"I think that Hillary getting the nomination would be the only thing that would insure a huge republicant turnout in November. Her negs are so high you can’t get over them, so wide you can’t get around them."
Except I think that the Repub candidate will be so lame that that could depress their turnout. And they have thrown everything at her(a lot of it lies) and it hasnt stopped her from winning major elections and contending strongly for the Presidency. They have nothing to surprise us with anymore about her-we know all there is to know. So if she loses, I think it will be because of Dems staying home, which would confirm once and for all that Democrats are losers.
"So if she loses, I think it will be because of Dems staying home, which would confirm once and for all that Democrats are losers."
Yes.
If McCain is your vision of the republican alternative and you're voting for Obama, you seriously need to reevaluate your views because those two are essentially opposite. The anyone but Hillary position is going to get Americans back on the downward spiral. Keep f-ing yourselves over. I wouldn't even care much if I didn't have a family member in the military. Go right ahead.
The GOP turnout is going to be huge if Hillary or Obama get the nomination. There are loads of people who don't want to see a woman or a black person in the white house. Do you think Obama's getting secret service protection for nothing? IF a democrat wins in November, I'd fear for their safety unless that dem is John Edwards. Things are bad, especially economically, so that paternalistic attitude that dems save for minorities can now be applied to Joe Everyman
Obama or John Edwards all the way. No Hillary anything for me.
Why should I vote for Hillary just because she's a Democrat? She's not the candidate I want and I don't believe in her nor do I want her representing me. Folks are derided at this same board for the idea they support Barack Obama because he's black but here you have a female who doesn't have universal support and those who don't support her are losers? The losers will be us Democrats if Hillary is the nominee. That's a fact.
"Us" Democrats, huh? The election is bigger than Hillary or Barack. Dems are going to have to stop infighting at some point and stand behind the nominee. All of this bickering will seem so silly, selfish and regrettable when a Republican is in office and we go to war with Iran, Roe v. Wade is over turned, the supreme court continues to get hijacked, peak oil hits, etc. I mean, what if Obama gets the nom but loses in the GE b/c Hillary or other supporters take the same attitude? Then what? My allegiance is to "us" Democrats. Democratic Party. Period. Point blank. I don't put anyone or anything ahead of that. If we begin to do that - then, yea, we will lose. And there's a 100% CERTAINTY of that. No one on Earth can say for sure that Hillary or Obama would win nor can anyone say that they would lose.
From what I've seen of Hillary's supporters, they won't support Barack so he'd lose with the help of their resistance. The sense of entitlement goes beyond Hillary and extends to those who support her. Hillary supporters act as if they know best and only they know what is right. Any infighting is due to the ugly nature of Hillary's campaign and the ugliness her supporters have encouraged. She'll lose because she can't bring unity and that in the end is Camp Clinton's fault. I pray the Democratic candidate is anyone but a Clinton. If so, Democrats, we lose.
So are people really willing to risk another 4 years of the hell on Earth that has been visited upon us since Bush came into office? Are you really telling me that you would vote for crazy ass Huckabee if "your candidate" was not the democratic nominee?
I know some black people who voted for Bush in 2000 because they thought that Al Gore was boring!!!!! Well we may have not been bored these last couple of years, but I still think no matter what, we need to support the dems this time around. I am in SC and when the primary gets here, I am not sure who I will vote for, but I know I will be doing whatever I think will be best for the democratic party.
Hillary supporters will support whomever gets the nom. Trust. The issues we care about are bigger than that.
@coco - I made a similar argument re Al Gore and why some people didn't vote for him and how stupid that reason seems today.
When Huckabee makes everyone swear allegiance to Christ on job apps, in school (which will no longer teach science). And when Romney makes us all wear diapers on our wedding nights and when McCain starts dropping bombs on Iran… any Dem who votes a repub or stays home should be sent to Club Med Gitmo (which of course will still be around b/c the repubs love it!).
Haha!
