"American blacks are likely to suffer disproportionately from climate change and they are willing to pay to combat it, a commission aimed at raising awareness about global warming said on Tuesday. … Blacks are more than twice as likely as whites to live in cities where the so-called heat island effect is expected to make temperature increases more severe, the newly formed group said at a briefing. More blacks also will be 'fuel poor' as energy demand rises due to higher air-conditioning loads, population growth and urbanization, commission said. … A solid majority, 64 percent, of those surveyed by telephone between June 20 and July 3 said they would be willing to pay an additional $10 a month to fight global warming. Twenty-eight percent were willing to pay an added $25 a month and only 14 percent were willing to pay an extra $50."

Okay so let me get this straight…Black people, the original men and women, inhabitants and descendants of the some of the hottest places on the planet, with skin of bronze and all that jazz, worked the fields from sun up to sun down, are worried about the increased heat? WTF?? Mind you the article is not talking about pollution or the effects on the ecological system, its talking about heat. Hence the need for more air conditioning. Now I will concur that its much more comfortable in my air conditioned office, and on some nights the a/c is on full blast, but Im certainly equipped to survive should I (a resident of a planet that revolves around the sun) find the need to, dare I say, go outside. The must be the dumbest 750 brothas and sistas they could find. I regress, and honestly dont mean to insult anyone, but its just inappropriate behavior, brought on by euro-centric education and thinking. White people are hot and can't take the heat, so now they want us to actually help them in decreasing the temperature on earth. I mean if the sun is so dangerous why isnt there a skin cancer epidemic in Africa instead of and AIDS related one. Maybe we should ask Angelina and Brad, cuz they're certainly not adopting any villages or renting any U-Hauls for the move over there. Please check the weather channel, its 120 in the Sudan right now, and not a pale face in sight. I think the world could stand a few more degrees. As the old saying goes…"If you can't take the heat, get out the kitchen"
