The Critic's Choice Awards went down last night in Santa Monica, and one sincerely hopes that the stars made the most out of it, since the Golden Globes have been reduced to a press conference. Big winners included No Country For Old Men and the cast of Hairspray, and Don Cheadle was awarded for his humanitarian work. More pics and the awards results after the jump.

That blows that the awards are affected due to the writer's strike but hey, those production companies should have paid those people better than they did.
Daniel Day-Lewis is rising fast on my list of fave actors. He seems to only make a movie once every leap year so I always forget about him. LOL. He's brilliant.
BMD, I still get tingly when I see him in 'Gangs of New York'. I can't wait to see his new movie. The trailer looked great!
Gangs of New York is a great movie. I saw a screening of There Will Be Blood while I was back home for X-mas. At times meandering, the film was pretty good overall. The ending is a doozy.
I can't wait to see the Orphanage and Cloverfield.
I caught a bit of the show. Angelina was looking bored and dry as hell (but begrudgingly stood up when everyone else did)when Don Cheadle won the Joel Siegel award. It was annoying to see D.L. make tired "black people v. white people" jokes on stage. His lame "observations" were insulting and not on par with where his comedy should be, especially in that crowd. I'm upset about missing the fashion and drunken speeches at the Globes. Maybe next year….
