It's A Great, Great Day For A Select Few
And Plain, Old Monday, Dec. 3 For The Rest Of Us

karithfoster.jpg Meet Karith Foster, one of the two new, black co-hosts on Imus in the Morning, which returned to the airwaves today. She's not really nappy and the ho thing you can't really tell by looking at her, but it remains to be seen how well she'll fit in. Well, it remains to be seen by others, because I won't be watching. Anyway, the point is that everything is all good. No one can say anything racist when they have two black co-hosts!!! At least, they can't possibly mean it if they do. Or wait, does that rule only apply when you have black friends or give to charities that benefit people of all colors? It makes my head spin, to be honest.

daria,

Ain't that the truth. You know Imus will stare at her roots anytime he has to listen to her speak. He'll cringe.

Awww. Seriously, I want her to go natural just so his head would explode.

Natural hair and she thinks Jon Stewart is "god". I wonder what the over/under is on her quitting in six months? LOL.

Well, she's a comedian so chances are that she drinks heavily. Alcohol numbs a lot of feelings so maybe she'll last a year.

daria,

Alcohol will dull her senses after she gets all those perm burns from getting her hair relaxed.

Looking at it again, I think her hair's natural and she got it pressed like 3 or 4 days ago which explains the nice volume and new growth look near her scalp. She needs to be drinking to dull the flat iron burns that she'll surely get at least if her flat ironing skills resembled mine. If she flat irons as much as I did, the heat damage will be worse than a relaxer.

But really, if you live in a low humidity area, natural hair is the way to go because if you want to straighten it for a bit, you only have to do it once a week or so instead of every other day. The volume you get with natural hair is gorgeous.

Did anybody watch or listen? I'm looking forward to tomorrow when they will be in a broadcast studio.

I've never tuned in to Don Imus and I don't plan to now. I'm sure Al Sharpton's staff is on it, so I'll just wait for them to tell me when the next stupid thing happens.

Way to use your own mind, Demetria. Why would you let an ignorant buffoon like Al Sharpton tell you what to think?

Wow this is an amazing coincidence.

Karith Foster was a part of the standup lineup back in March at a gay bar here in NYC called Barracuda. She seemed like a bit of a "sellout" then but little did I know that the two black women featured in the lineup would represent sellout central. Defending Imus' return to the radio? Come on now girl, you can do better.

Anyway, another black female comedian Erica Watson called a group of three black men "niggers" on stage in front of a majority gay white audience. She took audience questions and someone asked "What do you think about the word nigger?" Here is what she said:

"I don't know. You guys invented the word, so you guys should be able to use it. I mean don't you just look at a guy and say 'Damn, he's such a nigger!'? I mean, you know a nigger when you see one. There are those three in the corner right there." Comedy?

Okay, the websites got cut off, so here they are again…

The two URLs below are each split in two. You'll have to copy and paste each part of each URL seperately, not just the first line, but also the "comedian sandra watson pulls a" or "statement from row man productions" part. Check it out you guys. She's currently starring in a movie called Dirty Laundry, but she won't even address her own dirty laundry.

Whoa, LaSmartOne, I read all about the Erica Watson controversy over at Racialicious. Later, I met her and asked her about it. She is not a friend of mine but we talked a bit and I didn't get a "sell out" vibe from her. Of course, that's just my initial impression and I wasn't there at the club when she supposedly singled out black patrons and called them n*ggers but even the good folks at Racialicious closed comments on the story because the claims against her seemed dubious. Why drag her into this Imus story? It's somewhat off topic and makes it seem as though you have a specific agenda to disparage Erica Watson. No disprespect to you, LaSmartOne, but your comments seem a bit unfair and unnecessary.

MaddyUsher, so are you saying that what she said was okay? She never even apologized and that's all this brother was looking for. He's a personal friend and he showed me the emails from Carmen van Kerchove stating that she pressed Erica and RowManProductions for the tape of the incident but they didn't produce it. She shut down comments because she become tired of moderating the comments, it was a hot topic for about an entire week after the first posting…

What are you saying? You should just be quiet and blog about Nothing. Because what you just said was that "NOTHING".
