Jesse Jackson Skips The March On Decency, Decides To Take On Energy Companies Instead

Since that whole Don Imus thing backfired on him just a little bit, Jesse Jackson has picked up a cause that's a bit more foolproof — the lack of women and minorities in positions of power at energy companies like Exxon.

"We intend to inject ourselves into the struggle for fair access to energy," Jackson told a news conference. "Historically, we've not had that access."

Jackson said minorities have been underrepresented in all parts of the energy sector in the U.S. and are largely relegated to the role of consumer.

The Rainbow PUSH Coalition's plan is to buy stock in 20 of the largest energy companies so that, as investors, the boards will have to listen to them. I hope that works, since no one seems to be listening to him right now. Doesn't he know that the media only cares what he has to say when it's about something sensational and exploitative?
