In Israel for the country's 60th anniversary yesterday, George W. Bush went on the attack, comparing Barack Obama and man in the Democratic party to Nazi appeasers. He's been blasted for the past 24 hours by analysts and Democratic politicians alike, who have questioned not only his presentation of the facts but the inappropriateness of presenting false, partisan attacks against American politicians on foreign soil. And also — Bush criticizing another's foreign policy? Please.
John McCain was called upon to refute Bush's claims and his tactics, but he agreed with him instead. Of course, Obama quickly released a statement saying, "It is sad that President Bush would use a speech to the Knesset on the 6Oth anniversary of Israel's independence to launch a false political attack. It is time to turn the page on eight years of policies that have strengthened Iran and failed to secure America or our ally Israel."
But perhaps the most furious and exasperated Democrat is Sen. Joe Biden, who ripped Bush apart in a conference call with reporters yesterday.
This is bullshit, this is malarkey," he said. "This is outrageous, for the president of the United States to go to a foreign country, to sit in the Knesset … and make this kind of ridiculous statement… He is the guy who has weakened us,” he said. “He has increased the number of terrorists in the world. It is his policies that have produced this vulnerability that the U.S. has. It’s his [own] intelligence community [that] has pointed this out, not me.”
Biden for Secretary of Defense!
Ya know, I can almost forgive Biden for his remark about Obama being "clean and articulate"…
malarkey…thats whats up
Bush is a f–king piece of sh-t douche-bag. I cannot believe that Americans have elected him twice. What such bloody disgrace.
I always liked Biden and thought that "clean and articulate" comment was taken waaay out of context. Obama is an exceptionally good-looking, well-dressed political candidate, and he's the first black presidential candidate who doesn't seem to have a pile of baggage. And as for being articulate, after listening to Bush for eight years, it's like a choir of freakin' angels every time Obama opens his mouth. Man, I am so looking forward to having a president who uses real words in full sentences. Hopefully he'll avoid making ill-timed and poorly-conceived foreign policy statements, too.
Ya know, RWS, my mom, who'd shoot a racist down with her eyes alone, agreed with you. This is how she said it: "Biden's right. Obama looks like he just wiped off the last water bead from his shower."
The thought of Obama coming out of the shower…::licks lips::
Senator Biden?
That "clean and articulate" thing? Let's just forget about it, okay?
P.S. Thanks for naming my blogroll!
Kthxbai!
I'm gonna have to start using "malarkey" in conversation.
I think President Bush was being unpatriotic and disrespectful. Obama has about a 50% chance of becoming president and to go to another country and stand on their soil and speak ill of him is just wrong. Even if this was McCain I would have a problem with it.
When Hugo Chavez visited the states last year he said many nasty things about Bush. A number of Democrats spoke out against Chavez. Charles Rangel and even Al Sharpton(I saw him with my own eyes) criticized Chavez.
This was cool of Biden. I even made mention of it on my blog: http://afro-americawriter.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!2D30651C10302D91!545.entry
This show of "testicular fortitude" is very becoming of the Dems. Howard Dean, watch and learn. Hell, step back and learn how to be a leader.
