Remember Latarian Milton, the Florida seven year old who made national news when he stole, and ultimately crashed, his long-suffering grandmother's car because, to quote the young thief, he "just wanted to do hoodrat stuff with his friend?" It was the cry for help heard 'round the country, and, after giving it a bit of thought, I felt sort of guilty for posting it. A few weeks later, when Latarian made the news again for basically beating up his grandmother at the grocery store because she wouldn't buy him chicken wings, I thought, this kid needs help and decided to leave that one alone. Fast forward to today, and it's clear that not everyone has come to the same conclusion about young Latarian. His grandmother and mother are appearing Judge Judy, along with what will surely be a guest appearance from the precocious Latarian, to argue over who has to pay for Grandma's totaled car. Who has to pay for Latarian's therapy?
When I first read the heading, I thought he'd gotten a reality show! Seriously, this kid needs some psychiatric help and a mentor in his life.
He does need help, not reality television or Judge Judy to celebrate his ignorance.
I know as a boy growing up without a father, that this kid needs a strong, positive male role model or he'll be dead before he's 25.
LJ,
Not that I am advocating the Judge Judy appearance, but I am sure she won't "celebrate" him. I haven't seen her in years but she's no joke! In fact, I find her to be very firm and condescending!
He needs a strong, positive 2X4 over the head.
"Hoodrat stuff" I just plain give up.
LMAO! (Chokes on chicken wing…)
These are the type of stories that sustain the "black stereotype." They need to make a boondocks episode on this.
He needs to go see my grandma. She'll whip the demons out of him. She doesn't do the belt or switch. Oh no. She buys them at the store meaning that it very rarely breaks or loses the sting.
You can find these at your local African supermarket. Indian and Korean markets probably have these too.
Daria,
LOL! I was defintely going to ask where to find them. I have never heard of that!
I know they carry them everywhere. All my relatives here have them on top of the fridge. I have no idea what it's made out of. Bamboo possibly. It's STRONG and thin.
