Just Call Her Beyonce Knowles-Carter

beyjaymarried.jpgIt's official! Well, sort of. There has been no official confirmation, but all signs indicate that Beyonce and Jay-Z did indeed marry in NYC yesterday, capping off the event with a small-but-lavish tented reception atop Jay-Z's Tribeca apartment building.

After the jump, check out pictures of guests Solange, Mathew Knowles, Kelly Rowland, Michelle Williams, and Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin arriving at Jay-Z's building dressed all in white.

um. quick question. wasn't it *cold* in New York yesterday? I know it was cold here in Connecticut (aka 30 miles away.) Why they dressed like they in Bora Bora?

smh Rock on celebrities withyoursuperchargedimmunesystems. Rock on.

Not only was there no official confirmation about the wedding, but it's been six years now, and they still haven't ever acknowledged, officially, that they're a couple, correct?

Congrats to my favorite couple : i will forever be in love with the unique mix they provide : Magnificent blackness, powerful ambition, funny bigotry, unashamed lust…

And real intelligence : she's a Connect Four champion and she managed to make him say i do (girlfriend got strategy), he's a certified egocentric and tricky true moneymaker (he's counting millions when he can't fell asleep). "Gotta lov dem"

hadn't cared a whit about their relationship or nuptials (or music that B has put out), but Rachel makes a good point: it's nice to see a powerful black couple.

i don't think black blogs cover this topic anymore than white-oriented media. in fact, i'd say white-oriented media is more obsessed.

Anonymous, so true. My coats were being dry cleaned so I was wearing 2 sweatshirts, a sweater and a henley this weekend.

I love Gwyneth and find it so odd that they're friends. I guess I just assume that people with such different lifestyles can't really have much in common. Actually, scratch that. I don't love Gwyneth. I liked her in Royal Tenenbaums. Tactless, unintentionally offensive people just have to stick together.

Agree with souldecirce.

After the firestorm surrounding a couple of other posts on this blog, it's great to see that at least two black people are willing to love each other.

Congratulations to the happy couple. I have to admit that I am a tad bit jealous of Beyonce right now! LOL. It's about time though. They should have known that they couldn't have kept this marriage a secret. Big mouth Kelly and Michelle made it so obvious from their YouTube clip that something "special" was about to go down.

I don't really think of Beyonce and Sean's wedding (if there was one) as that. I think of it more as a merger. A power move. I don't doubt they are in love but, they both had to see the potential from the beginning.
