It turns out all of those rumors about Jaden Smith starring in a remake of the Karate Kid — you know, the ones that Will Smith's rep denied were true — were… true. From Variety: "Columbia Pictures is back in the dojo with a new version of the 1984 hit "The Karate Kid," which has been refashioned as a star vehicle for Jaden Smith… The script is being written by Chris Murphy, and the film will shoot next year in Beijing and other cities. While the new film will be set in that exotic locale, it will borrow elements of the original plot, wherein a bullied youth learns to stand up for himself with the help of an eccentric mentor… The younger Smith, who next stars in "The Day the Earth Stood Still," is a martial arts practitioner."
It's gonna fuckin suck so bad.
I am SO FUCKING SICK OF REMAKES, goddamnit, Hollywood!!!!!
If they get Jackie Chan to be the new Mr. Miagi, I'm going to jump out a window.
He is one arrogant little child. I have seen him and his sister in interviews and I have to change the channel.
Cosmic,
I can't take the "attitude" that comes thru in the photos of the little girl so I know it would be hard for me to endure an interview of her.
@ DFP I KNOW!!!!! it's on a ridiculous level now.
ARGHHHHH!!!!!! JUST LEAVE IT ALONE!!! I'M SICK AND FUCKING TIRED OF THESE PIECE OF SHIT STUDIO EXEC'S REMAKING MOVIES BECAUSE THEY'RE TOO FUCKING LAZY TO COME UP WITH NEW CONCEPTS!!!!!!
That is my rant for the day. Have a good night everyone.
I knew it!
Those Smith kids are already as insufferable as their parents, so I'm not surprised that one will be starring in a movie that doesn't need to be remade.
They should've just let them go to school and kept them out of show business until they become adults.
