Kid Rock Could Write A Rap Song With Two Hands Tied Behind His Back

Kid Rock has a deep respect for the music genre he appropriates. Did I say deep respect? I actually meant none at all.

Reverend Run, real name Joseph Simmons, recently confirmed an album with Kid Rock and the rock-rapper will also appear on Lil' Jon's album Crunk Rock, due for release later this year.

However the pair may reconsider working with him again after the rock-rapper branded their craft facile. He says, "Writing a rap, to me, is easy. I could write a rap like that. But writing songs and melodies and s*#t that's hopefully going to stick around for 30, 40 years is f*#king hard."

Well, when you consider songs like Cowboy to be actual rap, then of course it's easy. Actual rappers may disagree that the only songs that have 30 - 40 years of longevity are the country rock ones this guy thinks he's good at. Although D4L isn't helping their case any.

Maybe he meant only Lil Jon's music was lame/easy. Lil Jon's 'rapping' is garbage anyways. I could make a rap about dancing donkeys in Venezuela and it would be better than Lil Jon's music.

Yea, Kid Rock is not a rapper. I don't think anyone would term that shit he does as rapping. D4L rappers are better than this fool. And they are some garbage rappers. HIP HOP IS DEAD when terrible white boys demean the craft. In the words of the legend Nas, "this is real rap, Kid Rock and Limp Bizkit soft!"

I hope they don't work with his a$$. And I don't think he was just talking about Lil Jon, I think he was making a sweeping generlization of a whole medium. He probably doesn't even take the time/have the interest to listen, rewind & playback…I wonder what real rock and roll legends would even think of his work. Jimmy would just shake his head at this passing fad's commentary. Every genre has garbage and glory. He's not a true musician/lyracist/composer if he can't appreciate what each have to offer and he doesn't even have the sense to keep his mouth shut and avoid bad PR- glad he didn't (keep his thoughts to himself), though. Just another case of a BIG head.

Could it be that Kid Rock has totally failed at whatever genre he supposedly fits in, and now he is coming to serve the final death blow to rap?

You know, when Kid Rock first came out I actually liked him and then he had that song American Badass which was a great bar jukebox song, but after that, I outgrew him b/c he just started to seem really foolish and then the "seem" became reality. He's a total fool.

I recall a song on his first album where he used the N word quite liberally. He also has a half black son who must be incredibly fucked up with this cracker as a dad.
